Bobby Sylvester’s Week 7 Rankings (Fantasy Football)

Bobby Sylvester’s Week 7 Rankings (Fantasy Football)

Week 6 gave us Jameis Winston‘s breakout and huge games from seemingly random receivers, Albert Wilson and Marquise Goodwin. As is the case most weeks, there will almost certainly be several more big surprises and the more of those you can slide into your lineup, the better chance you’ve got to win your matchup. Today, I’ll give you my full set of rankings along with an explanation for four particular rankings that you might find to be controversial. There is plenty that can change between now and Sunday’s kickoff so make sure to check back in, especially on injured players and their potential replacements. I’ll update these rankings every few hours up through the weekend and those changes will show up on this page. You can use the tabs for flex or even Superflex as well as half-PPR, PPR or standard leagues to help make your start/sit decisions. None of these rankings are done for hyperbole, but are the actual order I would play them in if it were my own lineup. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to let me know on Twitter. The shorter you keep it, the more I can get to. Good luck!

Tarik Cohen (RB #17 v ECR #23)
Remember Darren Sproles back in the height of his career with the New Orleans Saints? He was startable every week in standard leagues, going for 170 touches and over 1,000 yards from scrimmage every year. Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but Cohen is on an even better pace, and this despite starting the season with a tiny workload. His role increases every week and should take another leap forward in a perfect matchup and game script versus the Patriots in Week 7.

Duke Johnson (RB #25 vs ECR #40)
I am not among those who believe that Johnson’s role is going to increase all that much with the departure of Carlos Hyde. Rather, I’m imagining it will be the Nick Chubb show from the get-go. That doesn’t mean Johnson won’t be terrific for this single week, however. The Tampa Bay Bucs have the worst defense and in football and it isn’t especially close, but their run defense hasn’t actually been all that bad. To me, this means that Johnson will get extra run with Cleveland likely passing 40+ times Sunday afternoon.

Keke Coutee (WR #34 vs ECR #46)
Just as we expected, Jacksonville’s defense, and in particular their secondary, has been phenomenal once again. There is a hole, however, this year at the slot cornerback position. That just so happens to be where Coutee lines up for the majority of his snaps, so while DeAndre Hopkins is kept busy with Jalen Ramsay and A.J. Bouye likely removes Will Fuller from the game, Deshaun Watson will be finding Coutee open time and time again.

Kelvin Benjamin (WR #44 vs ECR #59)
You may be puking right now, and I’d be right there with you if Josh Allen were healthy or Nathan Peterman were starting, but the Bills have awoken to the fact that they may actually be able to sneak into the playoffs again and that Derek Anderson gives them a better chance to do so than Peterman in Allen’s absence. This means that Benjamin and his 20% target share become much more attractive, especially in a dome versus Indianapolis, who has one of the worst secondaries in football.
