Bobby Sylvester’s Week 10 Rankings (Fantasy Football)

Bobby Sylvester’s Week 10 Rankings (Fantasy Football)

Stars lit up the leaderboard in Week 9 with Kareem Hunt, Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas leading the way. While you clearly didn’t need to be told to play those guys, it may have helped if you started Tevin Coleman, Duke Johnson and Cooper Kupp. Today, my goal is to help you with those difficult start/sit decisions by providing my Week 10 rankings.

There is plenty that can change between now and Sunday’s kickoff so make sure to check back in, especially on injured players and their potential replacements. I’ll update these rankings every few hours up through the weekend and those changes will show up on this page. You can use the tabs for flex or even Superflex as well as half-PPR, PPR or standard leagues to help make your start/sit decisions. None of these rankings are done for hyperbole, but are the actual order I would play them in if it were my own lineup. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to let me know on Twitter. Now before I show you all the rankings, let me tell you about four particular rankings that might surprise you and why I have them as I do.

Matthew Stafford (QB #13 vs ECR #20)
I’m not sure you will find anyone to argue with if you say the Bears are the top defense in the NFL. It is just truth and everyone knows it. With that said, that doesn’t exactly mean they have been dominant against opposing quarterbacks. In reality, the Bears are right smack dab in the middle of the pack, surrendering 17.82 fantasy points per game to the position and sandwiched in between the Colts, Packers, Browns, Jets and Giants. Stafford is almost never a bad start, but everyone is insisting you bench him because of this week’s matchup. Even with Khalil Mack now playing, it doesn’t seem like a death sentence to Stafford’s fantasy stats.

Leonard Fournette (RB #13 vs ECR #20)
Last season we saw Fournette miss two chunks of time. He came raging back in November with 19 touches versus the Chargers, then posted 21 against the 49ers in Week 16. That is all we have to go off of and it sure is promising. It seems as though the Jags held Fournette out until he was close to 100% this time so don’t be surprised when he sees another 20 touches in this bounceback game, which just so happens to be in a quality matchup versus the Colts.

Amari Cooper (WR #18 vs ECR #30)
It shouldn’t surprise you that Cooper saw a whopping 25% target share in his first game with the Cowboys. After all, they had the worst receiver core in football prior to the trade, plus they loved Amari enough to surrender a top 10 pick next year. Chances are, the elite talent will continue to see a 20% or higher target share moving forward so I’d recommend playing him every week regardless of the matchup. The only knock on him from Oakland was that he didn’t get targets. In fact, he was extremely efficient when he saw the ball, as always. Now that the targets should be in place, you can feel good about using him as your WR2.

Chris Conley (WR #36 vs ECR #70)
Sammy Watkins hasn’t been practicing this week and remains doubtful for Week 10’s probable blowout against the Cardinals. Conley hasn’t done much this season, but that is because Hill and Watkins have been getting all the targets. With that changing this week, you can expect this physical freak of nature to post a quality fantasy game. He does have one of the best quarterbacks in football passing him the ball, plus there is an implied total of 33 points for the Chiefs which is the highest mark in Week 10. Add in that Patrick Peterson will be focused on Tyreek Hill and you’ve got yourself a sneaky streamer.
