Quarterback

Matthew Stafford (DET) $6,800 vs CAR
Yes, Stafford has struggled this season, and, yes, one of his top targets, Marvis Jones Jr., is out for this game, but the Panthers’ defense has been giving up a ton of big plays this season. In fact, they ranked as the 22nd worst team in yards allowed per play, worse than teams like the Jets, 49ers and Cardinals. They rank 24th in DVOA (per FootballOutsiders.com) against the pass this season, and if the Lions can figure out how to keep Stafford upright for this game, look for him to air it out to 2nd-year wide-out Kenny Golladay. I’m expecting a big day from both.

Running Back

Dion Lewis (TEN) $5,900 @ IND
Lewis has now claimed the clear-cut No. 1 RB role for the Titans with 19 or more touches in each of his last three games. The Colts are ranked in the top 10 in DVOA against the run, however, rank 28th against RBs in the passing game. Look for Dion Lewis to be heavily involved in both the run and pass games Sunday. Lewis is also game-script proof. If the Titans are winning he will get carries to soak up some clock and if they are trailing, he will get catches in the passing game.

Theo Riddick (DET) $5,100 vs CAR
I mentioned above that Lions’ WR, Marvin Jones  Jr., will be out for this game, and if he is, the biggest benefactor would be pass-catching back, Theo Riddick. Riddick has received 15 targets over the last two games, which coincides with the departure of WR Golden Tate, and he should see a slight bump in targets with Jones Jr. out as well.

Wide Receiver

Tre’Quan Smith (NO) $4,900 vs PHI
Anytime you are playing in a what should be a high-scoring game, your QB is Drew Brees and you have Mike Thomas lining up on the other side of you drawing safties and double teams, you’re going to be fantasy relevant. I wouldn’t play Smith in Cash games but as a GPP flyer with huge upside at $4,900, you will be hard pressed to find a better option under $5k.

Demaryius Thomas (HOU) $5,600 @ WAS
Thomas’ Texans career began with a bang with three receptions in his first quarter as a member of his new team but then he did not catch a single pass after that. Look for Deshaun Watson to hook up early with Thomas again but continue to give him targets throughout the day. Football Outsiders has Washington ranked 29th against No. 2 WRs, which is the role Thomas is currently playing in this offense.

Tight End

Jonnu Smith (TEN) $5,300 @ IND
The Colts are 25th DVOA against opposing TEs this season and Smith has been coming on the last few games and he has scored a TD in each of his last two. His targets are still limited, so I wouldn’t trust him in cash games, but he is a viable GPP dart throw with TD upside.
