Quarterback

Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB) $7,100 @ CAR
There isn’t much in terms of value QBs that I really like this week, but Fitzpatrick makes for an interesting choice going up against a Panthers team that ranks 20th in DVOA against the pass this year per FootballOutsiders.com. Before being benched in Week 4, Fitzpatrick was averaging well over 30 FanDuel points per game, and while I don’t expect him to put up those type numbers this week, at $7,100 he doesn’t have to.

Running Back

Duke Johnson (TB) $5,200 vs. KC
There are two major reasons why I like Johnson this week, 1) both Hue Jackson and Todd Haley have been fired, and the former running backs coach is now the offensive coordinator, and 2) the Chiefs are going to put up a ton of points forcing the Browns to pass, which bodes well for Johnson as the pass-catching RB in this offense. The Chiefs give up an average of 70 receiving yards and rank 27th in DVOA against pass-catching RBs.

Jordan Howard (CHI) $6,200 @ BUF
Howard’s game script is exactly the opposite of Duke Johnson’s. It’s very likely the Bears get up early on the Bills and then just pound the rock with Howard to kill the clock. Howard hasn’t been ultra-efficient this year, but when given the volume he has been fantasy relevant. There is also a good chance the Bears offense gets set up with good field position as turnover prone QB Nathan Peterman is expected to get the start for the Bills.

Wide Receiver

Chris Godwin (TB) $5,900 @ CAR
Godwin has a total of four TDs on the season and three of them came from formerly-benched, newly-named starter Ryan Fitzpatrick. In fact, since 2015, 78 percent of Fitzpatrick’s fantasy points have come when targeting WRs, ranking him No. 1 over that span.

Courtland Sutton (DEN) $5,500 vs. HOU
Demaryius Thomas is in Houston now, opening the door for Sutton to step into the No. 2 role and the best red zone option in this offense. The Texans defense allow the fifth highest yards per game and ranks 30th in DVOA against team’s No. 2 WRs this season.

Tight End

Jordan Reed (WAS) $5,600 vs. ATL
Reed and the Redskins passing offense has not been great this year, which is why a healthy Jordan Reed is only $5,600. This week, however, they get a Falcons team with a terrible pass defense — ranking 28th in DVOA on the season. Redskins WR Jamison Crowder has already been ruled out, which leaves the middle of the field for Reed to work his magic.

Defense

Washington Redskins $3,400 vs. ATL
The Redskins defense has only given up one 300-yard passer all season, and that was to Drew Brees on his record-setting night in a blowout in which the Redskins gave up 43 points. They have faced some of the NFL’s top passers in Andrew Luck, Cam Newton and Aaron Rodgers, so it’s not like they have been facing bad QBs all year. They have also held David Johnson, Christian McCaffery, Ezekiel Elliott and Saquon Barkley, some of the leagues’ top RBs, to under 50 yards rushing this season.
