FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Wednesday (11/14)

FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Wednesday (11/14)

Just four games are scheduled this evening in the NHL. While there are not a lot of teams taking the ice, there is no night off in DFS. The Washington Capitals are the only team playing their second game in as many nights, so no need to worry too much about fatigue. The first three games should provide plenty of offense, while the late-night hammer should have goaltenders in mind. Let’s take a deeper dive into this small slate to find some of the best options this evening.

Center

Mark Scheifele (WPG): $8,000 vs. WAS
Winnipeg will host the Washington Capitals tonight after the Caps played in Minnesota last night. Winnipeg is a very good team and even better at home. The Jets will have the advantage of line-matching against Washington, so we will likely see a lot of the top two lines going at it. This is a plus matchup for the Jets and the Mark Scheifele line. Nicklas Backstrom is a defensive specialist, whereas Nikita Kucherov is simply just an elite offensive producer. With the likes of Patrice Bergeron and Nathan MacKinnon available, Mark Scheifele will go slightly under-owned at a discount.

David Krejci (BOS): $5,400 @ COL
The Avalanche are a much better team on home ice, however, this is going to be one of the toughest tests all season. Boston travels to Mile-High where two offensive teams will go toe-to-toe. David Krejci will center the second forward line and will also log time on the half-wall with the second power-play unit. Krejci is a dynamic forward with plenty of skill and will be able to get the better of the inexperienced Avalanche second line.

Wing

Blake Wheeler (WPG): $7,800 vs. WAS
After playing a physical game last night in Minnesota, things will not get any easier this evening. Winnipeg is a big, physical group who will look to slow down the Caps on home ice. Blake Wheeler will be tough to move off the puck and is great at cycling down low. The Capitals will have their hands full with this top line in what should be another offensive outburst. Wheeler has 20 assists on the season and should add to that total this evening.

Jonathan Marchessault (VGK): $7,200 vs. ANH
The second piece to a Golden Knights stack is Jonathan Marchessault. Having a down season, Marchessault will look to turn things around. Offensively, he has scored eight goals and seven assists, which leads the team in points. He generates plenty of shots to provide a nice fantasy point floor with plenty of upside.

Reilly Smith (VGK): $5,100 vs. ANH
Like his teammates, Reilly Smith is struggling this year. There is no question. What is different this season for Smith is that he is not shooting nearly as much. He has a great shot and needs to continue to put the puck on net to rejuvenate this struggling offense. Given the matchup, the Knights should have no issue finding opportunities to score.

Jake DeBrusk (BOS): $4,500 @ COL
This is a game which will feature the two best forward lines in the NHL. There is a reason to believe that they should almost cancel each other out. Patrice Bergeron is one of the best two-way centers in the league and Nathan MacKinnon is arguably a top five player in the league. This will leave the second and third forward groups off everyone’s radar. Jake DeBrusk is a great one-off option because he will log time on the top power-play with the Bruins’ studs but at nearly half the cost. He has great chemistry with his linemates and should be able to find offense on even strength as well.

Defense

Dustin Byfuglien (WPG): $6,100 vs. WAS
The Jets power-play is a dominant force. They are loaded with big shots and great playmakers. As we know, Tom Wilson is back from his 20-game suspension and will look to give the Jets some opportunities on the man advantage. Dustin Byfuglien has one of the hardest shots in the NHL and a nose for the net as one of the better offensive defensemen.

Torey Krug (BOS): $5,700 @ COL
Krug has played just six games this season after returning from injury. He is right back on track recording points. In those six games, Krug has yet to score a goal but has added six assists. He has taken 11 shots on goal in his last two games, which is a great indication of how comfortable he feels on the back-end. Look for Krug to lead this offense to a big win this evening.

Goalie

Marc-Andre Fleury (VGK): $8,400 vs. ANH
The same story continues with Marc-Andre Fleury as is with the entire Golden Knights team. They are off to a slow start. No one should have expected the Golden Knights to find the same success they had last year. Especially given the offseason transactions. There is a reason to believe that this team can and will get out of their funk against the Anaheim Ducks who have shown struggles themselves. This is a game Fleury needs to win and will look to put on a show in Vegas.
