Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 10

Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 10

Welcome to the dreaded injury report. Professional football is a violent game, and your fantasy players are going to miss time because of it. Hopefully, you don’t have many names on this list.

Julian Edelman (WR – NE)
Late in the fourth quarter of a blowout loss, Julian Edelman tweaked his ankle. Early reports suggest it is minor so with two weeks to get healthy, Edelman should be fine coming out of the bye.

Rob Gronkowski (TE – NE)
The Patriots’ TE didn’t play this past week and hasn’t been all that effective when on the field. Rob Gronkowski just can’t be trusted by his fantasy owners right now. There is no replacement. If you have Gronk, you’re probably streaming the position.

Marvin Jones (WR – DET)
Expected to see a bigger role in Golden Tate’s absence, Marvin Jones was on his way to a nice game before departing with a knee injury. The severity is currently unknown, but neither T.J. Jones nor Brandon Powell stepped up with Jones out. If Jones is forced to miss any time, it probably will mean more Kenny Golladay and Theo Riddick.

Mike Davis (RB – SEA)
The Seahawks’ starting RB, filling in for an injured Chris Carson, got banged up early in the first half and had to leave for just a handful of plays. He returned rather quickly, but his departure gave Rashaad Penny a chance to make something happen and make something happen he did. Penny ripped off a series of quality runs, including an 18-yard touchdown and that was all she wrote for Davis. Penny very well may finally have taken control of this backfield.

Martavis Bryant (WR – OAK)
The Raiders are terrible and you weren’t rostering Martavis Bryant anyway, but he did suffer what is believed to be a PCL tear. Move along, nothing to see here.

Jordy Nelson (WR – OAK)
Yet another irrelevant Raiders player got dinged up on Sunday. Jordy Nelson briefly exited with a quad injury, but quickly returned, although no one noticed since Nelson didn’t catch a pass. He has no business being owned in even the deepest of leagues.

Jakeem Grant (WR – MIA)
Poised to make an easy first-down catch, Jakeem Grant was forced to pull up as he aggravated his Achilles injury. It looked pretty bad and he had to be carted off. His season is likely over. Grant’s absence pushed Leonte Carroo into action, but no Dolphins’ WR is reliable with Brock Osweiler under center.

DeVante Parker (WR – MIA)
Yet another irrelevant injury – DeVante Parker sustained a shoulder injury on Sunday. He teased with a big game in his return, but it’s now two weeks in a row where he’s failed to deliver.

Cooper Kupp (WR – LAR)
After just getting back into the swing of things returning from a sprained MCL, Cooper Kupp went down in the fourth quarter of the Rams’ narrow victory over the Seahawks with a non-contact knee injury. It looked very much like a torn ACL after watching the replay and that is what we are hearing. It’s likely an unfortunate ending to the season for a very talented WR. Josh Reynolds will step in for Kupp and is worth a speculative add.
