On Sunday, as we sat on our couches fighting for our fantasy playoff lives, we saw Odell Beckham Jr. throw his second touchdown of the season, Phillip Lindsay explode for a career high 157 yards and two touchdowns, and the Colts get shut out by the Jaguars after Andrew Luck had gone eight straight games with at least three touchdown passes. Here are my risers and fallers after a wild week 13.

Risers
Justin Jackson (RB – LAC)
After Melvin Gordon got injured last week and was ruled out for at least a couple games, there was a lot of hype surrounding Austin Ekeler, who had been a rock solid number two back for the Chargers so far this season. It was Jackson, however, that stole the show in the backfield. Jackson turned his eight carries for 63 yards and a touchdown while Ekeler managed only 21 yards on 13 attempts. Jackson showed off his quick cuts and great vision, and likely earned himself a larger percentage of the workload as long as Gordon is unable to play.
Jalen Richard (RB – OAK)
Although he had his second fumble in his last three games, Richard also topped 90 total yards for the second time in three weeks, and had 95 yards on Sunday just on the ground. Doug Martin still had the lion’s share of the carries, but he fumbled as well (Deandre Washington also had one), and Richard was able to break up a couple of big runs. Richard also continues to be heavily involved in the passing game, trailing only Jared Cook (by six) in team targets.
Dalvin Cook (RB – MIN)
On Sunday, Cook looked like the running back that started the 2017 season. He was quick, explosive, and all over the place. The Vikings were trailing most of the game and got away from their run game early, but Cook managed to turn his nine carries into 84 yards, and was used in the passing game as well as Kirk Cousins targeted him 10 times. Cook is heating up at just the right time if you managed to make the fantasy playoffs despite his early season struggles. He’ll have a touch matchup in Seattle next week, but has the Dolphins and Lions in weeks 15 and 16.
Adam Humphries (WR – TB)
Humphries has been a reliable, startable WR2 since week 8 when the Bucs played the Bengals, and he continued his successful streak on Sunday. Humphries has five touchdown catches in his last five games, He’s put up double digit fantasy points (PPR) in five of his last six games, and he’s been the WR9 overall in that span. Despite the crowded receiving corps the Bucs have, Jameis Winston loves to look in Humphries’ direction.
Josh Allen (QB – BUF)
Allen needs to be taken seriously as a fantasy football quarterback option. In the games he’s been back as the starter, he’s produced 26.3 and 28.7 fantasy points. His passes aren’t always pretty. He only has five passing touchdowns on the season and he hasn’t completed more than 18 passes in a game, but he is a legitimate threat with his legs. Over the last two games, Allen has ran the ball 22 times for 234 yards and a touchdown. It may not be conventional, but he’s putting up points.
Fallers
Kenny Golladay (WR – DET)
Fantasy points are not coming to Golladay as easily as we believed they would since the departure of Golden Tate and the injury to Marvin Jones Jr. Despite Golladay’s big weeks 10 and 11, he’s only caught 50% of the balls thrown his way over the last four games. Defenses have been able to focus their attention on him and force Matthew Stafford to throw the ball elsewhere. He came up with one big play on Sunday, but only totaled three catches for 50 yards.
Frank Gore (RB – MIA)
Gore has defied father time for much longer than most running backs, but the long season might finally be starting to weigh on him. On Sunday he had his second lowest rushing output of the season while Kenyan Drake was able to be more effective both on the ground and through the air. Eight carries for 21 yards does not boost anyone’s confidence, and the game script next week against the Patriots should favor Drake as well.
Tevin Coleman (RB – ATL)
Last week, Coleman went six yards on eight carries. This week, he went eight yards on six carries. That’s a pretty bad couple of weeks. Despite Devonta Freeman missing the majority of the season, Coleman, a pending free agent in the spring, has not put on the best show for the rest of the league. He’s only had 100 yards on the ground once this season (and not since week 2), and he’s had 100 total yards one additional time. Ito Smith has vultured quite a bit of work from Coleman, but maybe Coleman just isn’t meant to be a workhorse.
Dion Lewis (RB – TEN)
Lewis is a faller again. He was once the lone bright spot on the Titans’ offense, but that light continues to fade. After going four weeks straight with double digit rush attempts, he’s now gone consecutive weeks failing to hit that mark. The worst part of his day though, was his two catches for -2 yards. If Lewis isn’t generating offense as a receiver, he’s had a tough time getting himself going on the ground.
