FanDuel NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Wild Card Round

FanDuel NFL Cash Game Lineup Advice: Wild Card Round

The NFL regular season might be over, but we can continue to play DFS in the postseason. We only have four games to choose from, so our room for error is slim on these contests.

Before we get to the suggestions, here’s the list of players who have been ruled “out” already: Ryan Grant, Carson Wentz, and Mike Wallace.

These write-ups are posted every Saturday before the final injury report comes out. If important news comes out prior to kickoff, look for updated advice and suggestions on my Twitter page, @CharlieSideHstl.

Quarterbacks

Mitchell Trubisky (CHI): $7,700 vs. PHI
The Texans are projected to score the most points in the Wild Card Round (24.5 points) and Deshaun Watson is priced accordingly. He’s $8,400 and the most expensive quarterback on FanDuel. However, the Bears are projected to score the second-most points (23.75), yet Trubisky is the fifth-most expensive option at the QB position. I’ll take the value and the QB facing the secondary that’s allowing the 10th-most points to opposing quarterbacks this season. In three of the past four games, Philadelphia has allowed over 330 passing yards. They’ve also allowed at least two passing TDs in two of the past four contests.

Other notables:

Running Backs

Ezekiel Elliott (DAL): $8,800 vs. SEA
With only four games on the docket, the running back position should be the place where you spend the most money. Elliott rested in Week 17 and still took home the rushing title. Now, he’s fresh and ready to take on Seattle. The Seahawk defense hasn’t been as dominant on the road. This season, Seattle is allowing 4.6 rushing yards per attempt at home and 5.3 rushing yards per attempt on the road. As for Elliott, he earns more receptions at home. This year, he has 42 catches at home (35 catches on the road) and averages more yards per catch at home (8.2) than on the road (6.4).

Chris Carson (SEA): $7,500 @ DAL
Carson has been on a roll, lately. He’s tallied at least 19.4 FD points in three straight contests. As for Dallas, they’ve allowed five rushing touchdowns in the last three games and allowed the opposing RB to tally over 100 rushing yards in two of the past three games (Saquon Barkley and Marlon Mack).

Other notables:

Wide Receivers

Allen Robinson (CHI): $6,500
For those who have read my posts in the past, you know that I love to pair my quarterback with a receiver from the same team in my FD lineup. That’s the same case here. Robinson leads the Bears with 94 targets and 754 receiving yards. He’s notched at least seven targets in six of the past seven games he’s played. On the downside, ARob hasn’t scored a TD since November 11th.

Cole Beasley (DAL): $5,400 vs. SEA
Since we spent a large chunk of our FD salary on running backs, we need to cut costs at the WR position. Beasley isn’t a terrible play. He’s caught at least four passes in three consecutive games and notched at least 40 receiving yards in each contest during that span. When the Cowboys traveled to Seattle on September 23rd, Beasley caught three passes for a total of 46 yards. Hopefully, the Seattle secondary double covers Cooper, allowing Beasley to go one-on-one with his defender.

DeAndre Carter (HOU): $5,200 vs. IND
Again, we need to save money, somehow. So, we went with the second-best WR named “DeAndre” on the Texans. With Demaryius Thomas on IR and Keke Coutee battling injuries, Carter could be the second-best receiver on the Texans, period. He’s caught 10 combined passes for 94 yards in the past two games. In the two regular-season meetings between the Texans and Colts, Coutee had a huge game in Week 4 (11 catches for 109 yards) and in Week 14, while DeAndre Hopkins scored a TD, it was Thomas who had the better game (four receptions for 48 yards). Hopefully, Carter becomes the No. 2 option and has a decent outing for our FD lineup.

Other notables:

Tight Ends

Eric Ebron (IND): $6,600 @ HOU
Fortunately, for us, we have the privilege of having two games of data between the Colts and Texans this season. In those two games, Ebron has been successful. In Week 4, he caught five passes for 40 yards and scored a TD. In Week 14, caught four balls for 65 yards and a TD. Houston has been bad against opposing TEs all season. The Texans are allowing the second-most points to opposing TEs in half-point PPR leagues.

Other notables:

Defense

Bears (CHI): $5,500 vs. PHI
This wasn’t a hard decision to make. The Bears allow the fewest points per game and the Eagles’ starting QB Nick Foles limped into the postseason. Chicago hasn’t allowed more than 17 points in five of their last six games.

Other notables:

  • Ravens (BAL): $4,900 vs. LAC
  • Cowboys (DAL): $5,100 vs. SEA
  • Chargers (LAC): $4,500 @ BAL
