DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (2/12)

DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (2/12)

After a quiet Monday evening, there are 12 games scheduled in the NHL tonight. With so many teams in action, finding the right stacks to load up on will be tricky. Teams are starting to make a push for the playoffs, which are now just two months away. With the trade deadline looming, teams will be showcasing players to scouts and giving certain players undeserved ice-time. With so many variables to look at this evening, let’s take a deeper look into this particular slate to find some of the best DFS options.

Center

Ryan O’Reilly (STL): $7,100 vs. NJ
Don’t look now, but the St. Louis Blues are officially in a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Although they had an awful start to the season, the Blues are a team to watch during the final stretch into the playoffs. Ryan O’Reilly is a large part of the success due to his career year. Now with 20 goals and 35 assists in 54 games, the top line center will continue to be leaned on for offense as his dynamic wingers help drive this team.

Ryan Johansen (NSH): $5,900 vs. DET
The Predators are finding plenty of offense now that their top forwards are getting healthy. The Red Wings will struggle to stop a hungry team at home tonight. Among the worst teams in the league for CF%, Detroit seemingly struggles even more on the road. Coming off an emotional loss to St. Louis, look for Nashville to come out guns blazing in this game.

Wing

Vladimir Tarasenko (STL): $6,700 vs. NJ
The Russian sniper is on fire right now, among the hottest players in the league. Scoring three goals in his last game against the Predators, Vladimir Tarasenko now has 12 points in his last eight games. Logging time on the top forward line and power play unit, Tarasenko will have plenty of opportunities to score against a weak Devils team.

Viktor Arvidsson (NSH): $7,200 vs. DET
Along with Ryan Johansen, linemate Arvidsson is a great addition as part of a stack against the Red Wings tonight. The right-winger is the clear goal-scorer on the team. With 24 goals in just 34 games this season, he is the finisher on the top line and power-play. Arvidsson takes a lot of shots on goal and is the top option to score any given night.

Reilly Smith (VGK): $4,300 vs. ARI
Although he is not having quite the season as last year, Reilly Smith is still on the top forward line for a very dynamic, offensive team. Rostering Smith provides salary relief with plenty of fantasy upside. Going up against the Coyotes, Vegas should have their way and score multiple goals. Reilly Smith and the top forward unit should be the best beneficiaries.

Defense

Alex Pietrangelo (STL): $5,100 vs. NJ
On the road, the New Jersey Devils are one of the worst teams in the league. Allowing 102 goals against in just 27 games, the Devils will be in a tough spot against a hot Blues team. Alex Pietrangelo has emerged as one of the best defensemen in the NHL and will anchor a dangerous power-play. Averaging 24 minutes per game, Pietrangelo is one of the top options on the back end this evening.

Colin Miller (VGK): $4,000 vs. ARI
Determining which defenseman on the Golden Knights is going to produce the most fantasy points on any given night is quite difficult. That being said, Colin Miller is a great option given his salary. Averaging 20 minutes a night, Miller also fires a ton of shots on goal. He is set to start on the top power-play unit tonight, which adds value to the inexpensive price tag.

Goalie

Connor Hellebuyck (WPG): $8,100 vs. NYR
There are a lot of interesting options in goal tonight. Five teams have a money line of -200 or more. Of those five, Connor Hellebuyck and the Winnipeg Jets are one of the heaviest favorites at -245. Hosting the Rangers, Hellebuyck will not only see a lot of shots but will also likely get the win. A much better team on home ice, the Jets will look to continue that success tonight.
