FanDuel NBA Lineup Advice: Tuesday (2/26)

Feb 26, 2019

Kyrie is among the best options at point guard tonight

Welcome to the Tuesday edition of FanDuel NBA lineup advice. After a massive eleven game slate on Monday, we get a tight three-game slate to navigate today. The games will get increasingly fantasy friendly as the night progresses, with the crescendo being a Western Conference battle between Denver and Oklahoma City that carries an expected point total of 237.

Even with the truncated slate, there are some tough salary decisions to make with six players checking in at salaries over $9,000. I prefer to take advantage of small slates like tonight’s by playing in tournament formats and avoiding cash games, so that’s perspective I’ll be writing from today. Of course in tournaments, you want to find some high-risk, high-reward options. It also pays to be a little different and avoid the chalk. With all that in mind, here’s my advice for tonight.

Point Guard

Kyrie Irving (BOS): $9,700
On tonight’s slate, plenty of people are going to want to immediately lock in Russel Westbrook, the highest priced player on the slate. I’d prefer to take the $2,500 discount with Kyrie Irving. He could have lower ownership than Westbrook and has arguably just as high of a ceiling. The matchup looks rough on paper, as the Raptors give up the fifth-fewest FanDuel points to point guards this season, but Irving has been the exception. In three games against the Raptors, he’s averaging 30.3 points and 11.7 assists. All things considered, Irving might be my favorite player on the slate tonight.
