DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Wednesday (3/27)

Coming down to the home-stretch, we are just over a week away until the start of playoffs. There are still meaningful games to be played entering Wednesday night with a four-game slate. Even though just eight teams are taking the ice, plenty of great DFS options are available in what should be a high-scoring evening. More than ever, be sure to confirm starting goaltenders and line combinations before lineup lock. At this point in the season, there are a lot of nagging injuries and illnesses popping up.

Center

Auston Matthews (TOR): $7,200 @ PHI
These teams played each other just two weeks ago in Toronto, which saw 13 goals scored. The Leafs ended up winning 7-6 in an offensive outburst. In that game, Matthews scored two goals and racked up eight shots on net. Philadelphia has had a disappointing season where they have struggled defensively all year long. Ranked fifth-worst in the NHL for goals allowed, the Flyers lack defensive defensemen and a structured game. Toronto has a very eclectic offense who attack in waves. Matthews is one of the top snipers in the game and will have a lot of open time and space to take advantage. This is the highest expected goal total on the night and if the game goes anything like the last time the two met, we should not be disappointed.

William Karlsson (VGK): $5,500 @ COL
It would be easy to recommend the Boston Bruins top players here, however, roster construction becomes quite difficult when you start a lineup with two centers at $7,200 on DraftKings. For salary relief, William Karlsson is a great option at just $5,500. The Golden Knights top forward line is heating up at the perfect time after having a down year from the 2017-18 season. In his last five games, Karlsson has scored four goals while adding four assists. At his price, the Golden Knights top center is a great option in DFS tonight.

Wing

William Nylander (TOR): $3,900 @ PHI
Playing on the second forward line with Auston Matthews, Nylander is a great bargain price. He should easily hit value as the main set-up man on his line. After sitting out for the first part of the season, Nylander finally got his contract and it took him a while to get going. Now back up on the second line, the Swedish star is racking up the assists. While he will not play with Matthews on the top power-play unit, Nylander will log time on the second unit getting additional ice-time for more opportunities.

Jonathan Marchessault (VGK): $6,000 @ COL
The second piece to a Golden Knights stack is winger Jonathan Marchessault. Like Karlsson, the talented forward has been on fire over the last five games, recording eight points. Having a career year last season, a lot of critics predicted regression, along with the entire team. Those critics have been silenced as the Golden Knights will enter the post-season as one of the most feared teams in the west.

David Pastrnak (BOS): $7,100 vs. NYR
When the Boston Bruins are completely healthy, there are few teams who can beat them. They might be the only hope to take down the Lightning deep into the playoffs. David Pastrnak missed over a month of time due to injury and has only played four games since returning. However, in those four games, Pastrnak has scored two goals and added four assists. Boston’s top line is back in-tact and will be ready to roll a broken down Rangers team.

Defense

Morgan Rielly (TOR): $6,000 @ PHI
The Leafs defenseman has likely played his way out of a Norris Trophy nomination, however, he has had little support from his teammates to make a case. Rielly is still an offensive threat each time he is on the ice and has now reached the 20-goal. In addition, Rielly has chipped in 50 assists for a remarkable 70 points. He is the quarterback on the top power-play unit which is ranked seventh in the NHL.

Shayne Gostisbehere (PHI): $5,300 vs. TOR
While we cannot expect another 13-goal outing in this game, a lot of offense is certainly probable. Toronto has not found a way to stop teams from scoring. Shayne Gostisbehere is the top offensive defenseman in Philidelphia, and he will have plenty of opportunities logging ice-time on the man-advantage and penalty kill. Gostisbehere will likely be tasked with trying to slow down the second forward line of Toronto which has been the weakest defensive line on the team. Look for Ghost to have a big night at home against the Leafs tonight.

Goalie

Tuukka Rask (BOS): $8,300 vs. NYR
The Boston netminder has been stellar this season and has improved his record to 26-11-5. He owns a 2.42 GAA and a .915 SV%. Hosting the Rangers, Boston is a -355 home favorite. Rask has a high probability of securing the win and will also see a lot of shots on net which will give him a high fantasy floor to go along with a GPP-winning ceiling.
