Pricing has been pretty tight on DraftKings so far this season. So, on a night like Monday’s eight-game slate where there are very few cheap pitching options that instill confidence, we are going to have to pinch every penny we can on our bats. When building your DFS cash-game lineup, look to pair a couple of high-strikeout upside arms with a bevy of value hitters to maximize your floor and ceiling.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Justin Verlander (HOU): $10,400 vs. NYY
Strikeouts are king for pitchers in DFS, and there are only two hurlers on the bump Monday night who have the upside of a double-digit strikeout performance. Justin Verlander is the highest-priced pitcher on the slate but just barely cracks five-figures with a matchup against the power-hitting Yankees. The Astros are the biggest Vegas favorite on the board while the game total remains one of the night’s lowest. Verlander recorded 13 strikeouts in 31 plate appearances against the current collection of healthy Yankees bats last season while allowing just a .177 wOBA.
