It figures, as soon as I look to change my mindset in cash games on DraftKings as I mentioned in Tuesday’s write-up, the very next day the DraftKings salaries seem to be quite a bit softer then they have been all season. Maybe the good folks at DraftKings read my article.
While this will help free up more salary for ace pitchers, Wednesday’s nine-game evening slate doesn’t really have much star-power on the hill. So, I’ll still look to save a few bucks on the bump, while I’m able to load up on some hitting, thanks to the softer pricing.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Pitchers
Robbie Ray (ARI): $9,400 vs. TEX
My pseudo-ace for Wednesday night is Robbie Ray. Ray can be erratic and frustrating to roster but on a slate without much certainty at pitcher, I’d rather swing for the fences with a high-upside arm. Ray has posted a strikeout rate over 31% in each of the last two seasons and sits at a 26.7% rate over this first two starts this year. Ray’s biggest issue is walks, but he has a pitcher-friendly umpire behind the plate who typically calls a game with decreased walks and increased strikeouts. Ray should also benefit from strong winds blowing in from left field. As a home favorite against the Rangers, I’m expecting to see the “good” Robbie Ray on Wednesday.
