DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Monday (5/13) PREMIUM
Monday night starts off the week with a mellow six-game MLB DFS slate. There are really no safe, high-priced aces on the slate, so I’m focusing on getting pitchers with high strikeout upside even if they come with some risk. Meanwhile, at the plate, there is a bunch of strong options to rosters from the mid-range salaries, down into the value tier. So, lock in your favorite pitchers and just make the salary work by mixing and matching your bats.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.
Robbie Ray (ARI): $10,000 vs. PIT
I don’t consider Ray a “safe” high-priced ace, but he does have a matchup he should be able to exploit and pay off his five-figure salary on Monday against the Pirates. The Pirates have posted a league-low .262 wOBA and 60 wRC+ against lefties this season. They have also posted the fourth highest strikeout rate against southpaws at 28.4%. Meanwhile, Ray is coming off his best performance of the season with 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 shutout innings against the Rays. Another game with double-digit strikeouts and the potential for a win should give Ray the highest ceiling of any of the hurlers on the bump Monday night.
