I would like to wish everyone a safe Memorial Day and say thanks to those who have helped provide the freedom we have as Americans and to the families of those who have served to protect that freedom.

Monday brings us a 10-game early slate of MLB action on the diamond. There are a few high-priced aces on the hill to consider but one pitcher on a patriotic themed team seems to be the class of the group. On the hitting side, we have a game at Coors Field on the slate but there is also a few other matchups that feature Vegas totals that rival that game, so you don’t need to go all-in the Rockies and Diamondbacks on Monday’s early slate.

Pitchers

Max Scherzer (WAS): $11,100 vs. MIA
Scherzer has recorded at least seven strikeouts in all 11 of his starts this season. He has also allowed three or fewer runs in nine of his 11 outings. It is that kind of consistency that you love to get into your cash game lineups. Scherzer always has upside but that upside could be even higher than normal pitching at home as a huge Vegas favorite against the Marlins. The Marlins rank dead last in wOBA (.273) and wRC+ (71) against righties this season while also posting the fourth highest strikeout rate (25.8%). Scherzer has had some trouble against Marlins hitters at times during his career but pitching at home in Washington D.C. on Memorial Day seems like a perfect spot for a dominant performance.
