DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Wednesday (5/15) PREMIUM
Wednesday night delivers an eight-game slate of MLB action. Pitching seems hard to come by once again on this slate, so I find myself spending up on the mound while trying to pinch my pennies at the plate. The key to the slate could be completely punting at catcher so you can get some of the sticks that are priced just north of the $4k mark.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.
Justin Verlander (HOU): $11,000 @ DET
The other high-priced ace in contention for this spot was Patrick Corbin but if you take a look at his history against the Mets hitters, you will know why I’ll pay the extra $1,000 of salary to snag Verlander. Verlander will be returning to Detroit where he played the first 12-plus years of his career. This Tigers team ranks seventh in strikeout rate (25.9%) against righties this season while also ranking 28th in wOBA (.283) and 27th in wRC+ (75). Verlander is an enormous road favorite according to Vegas and should anchor your cash game lineup.
