Wednesday’s split slate includes an eight-game evening slate on DraftKings which is the focus of this article. Roster construction for the slate hinges on the weather conditions at Coors Field for the matchup between the Giants and Rockies. With cool temperatures and rain expected, I am currently fading that matchup in cash games. If the weather improves and the likelihood of the game playing increases, then I’ll save salary on the mound by shifting away from my high-priced ace and loading up on Rockies right-handed sticks and maybe a couple of Giants lefties. That said right now my top recommendations focus on games outside of Coors Field.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Chris Sale (BOS): $10,400 @ BAL
I’m not ready to declare Sale as “fixed’ but he has put up better numbers in his last three outings with at least eight strikeouts in each outing while giving up two runs or fewer in all three games. His velocity is still down compared to last season but with a favorable matchup on Wednesday against the Orioles in Baltimore it might not matter. The Orioles have a .296 wOBA (23rd) and a 25.8% strikeout rate (10th) against southpaws this season. Sale has dominated Orioles hitters in the past with a massive 45.5% strikeout rate and .206 wOBA allowed in 88 plate appearances. All of that said, I’m fine with pivoting away from Sale to a guy like Kyle Gibson in cash games if you want to get Coors Field exposure.
