Welcome to FantasyPros MLB lineup advice for FanDuel’s Monday featured slate. It’s a pitching heavy slate, with some huge names scheduled to start tonight and solid depth in the middle tier. The Vegas lines reflect that, as only one game, BOS @ BAL (9.5 O/U), has an expected total over nine runs. That line was determined when David Hess was the probable starter, but it might lower now John Means is going to make that start after a rain delay Sunday. These low totals mean we’re gonna have to take some risks with our offense, and not be afraid to challenge pitchers that aren’t normal stack targets.

Starting Pitcher
Cole Hamels (CHC): $9,000 vs. MIA
There are quite a few big name pitchers on this slate, including both reigning Cy Young winners and last season’s NL runner up, but Hamels stands out as the best value on this slate. He draws an excellent matchup against Miami at home; the Marlins have a 63 wRC+ and .097 ISO against lefties as a team this season. Hamels has had a nice start to the season as well, posting a 3.19 ERA and 3.08 K/BB ratio in six starts. What makes Hamels so enticing is his ability to go deep into games. He’s averaging over six innings per start this season, and with his experience and pedigree the Cubs have him on a long leash. We can save salary by forgoing the high-end guys and get a similar result with Hamels.
