Fantasy Baseball Streaming Hitters: Week 10

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Hitters: Week 10

Fantasy baseball managers should be looking to tweak their rosters to bring home the championship. Even the best lineups could likely improve by identifying players who will play better from today forward.

Another way to bolster your lineup is by maximizing your games played in each head-to-head matchup. That is our goal today, so let’s take a look at the upcoming slate.

A Look at the Schedule

The Week 10 schedule has a ton of balance. Nine teams (Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, Angels, Athletics, Padres, Mariners, Rays, Rangers) have seven games this week. Conversely, one organization (White Sox) plays just five games. The remaining 20 teams have six contests.

It will be difficult to start any White Sox in Week 10. Add a seven-game option off the waiver wire to insert in your lineup instead. Gaining a significant games-played advantage will be difficult this week, but here are the top additions playing seven times who are owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Top Pickups

Avisail Garcia (OF – TB): 35% owned
Garcia is proving 2017 is no fluke. The Rays outfielder is batting .301/.363/.522 this season. He already has 10 homers and six steals as well.

The Rays are scheduled to face three lefties in Week 10. Garcia is a career .297/.355/.458 hitter against left-handers, so it should be a fantastic week for him.

Jurickson Profar (1B/2B/3B/SS – OAK): 47% owned
Profar is locked in as the A’s second baseman this season. Although not hitting well this season (.195 average), he batted .254/.335/.458 last year. He nevertheless already has eight homers and four steals. Profar could easily be a 20-home run and 12-steal option this season with eligibility at every infield position in Yahoo leagues. That sounds like a player who should be owned in over 50 percent of leagues.

Kyle Schwarber (OF – CHC): 46% owned
Schwarber is struggling a bit this season, but he already has 10 homers in the bank. He has 85 home runs in his career, and 74 of those have come against right-handed pitching. The Cubs are scheduled to face six righty starters in their seven seven home games in Week 10. Expect Schwarber’s numbers to improve from here on out, and next week could begin that rebound.

David Fletcher (2B/3B/SS/OF – LAA): 35% owned
The Angels’ 24-year-old is a versatile fantasy option who has started the season hot. Fletcher is hitting .314 with a .368 OBP through 54 games. He is starting on an everyday basis and has four homers and four steals as well. Ride the hot hand in Week 10, as the Angels host the Athletics and Mariners plus a Monday opener in Chicago against the Cubs.

Kevin Kiermaier (OF – TB): 15% owned
Kiermaier already has 10 steals this season. He is an annual 20-20 option if he could ever stay healthy for a full 600 plate appearances. Kiermaier has yet to hit those marks because of injuries, but he is often pacing for those numbers. Add him while he’s healthy and reap the rewards.

Ramon Laureano (OF – OAK): 17% owned
Laureano could be a 20-20 option in the coming seasons. The 24-year-old outfielder has six homers and four steals while batting .254 in 2019. He hits significantly better against right-handed pitching during his brief MLB career. The Athletics only face four righties in Week 10, but add Laureano for the upside anyway.

Mallex Smith (OF – SEA): 45% owned
Smith is not hitting well but has 14 steals in 154 plate appearances this season. He has caught fire with seven hits and six steals in his last four games. Expect Smith to continue running, but he is unlikely to help in any other categories.

Addison Russell (2B/SS – CHC): 6% owned
Russell, who started the season on administrative leave because of domestic violence allegations, has been playing nearly every game recently. The 25-year-old is eligible at both middle infield positions and has four home runs in 57 plate appearances while batting .275. Add Russell if you need a middle infielder for Week 10.

Christian Vazquez (C – BOS): 40% owned
Adding a catcher can always be a bit tricky given the number of off days they often receive. It is worth mentioning Vazquez, though. The 28-year-old is hitting .301/.340./500 with seven home runs and a steal this season. Vazquez could be one of the top catching options this season and is worth adding if your backstop is struggling.
