With games spread all throughout the day, I’m going to focus on the night slate that begins at 7 p.m. ET. What’s fascinating about this slate is no true aces are on the mound. Some starters are on the edge, but that means it’s critical to get your bats correct and build from there. If you have any comments or questions, reach me on Twitter @BartilottaJoel.

Pitcher
Jake Odorizzi (MIN): $10.900 vs. KC
This guy has been absolutely ridiculous. So far this season, Odorizzi is pitching to a 1.92 ERA and 0.97 WHIP while posting a 28.6 percent K rate. His recent numbers have been even better, providing a 0.76 ERA and 0.84 WHIP over his last eight starts. Those are AL Cy Young results, and the Minnesota righty is squarely in play for that award with his breakout season. Facing Kansas City is simply icing on the cake, with the Royals sitting 24th in runs scored, 23rd in wOBA, and 25th in xSLG. That’s why Odorizzi enters this matchup as a -250 favorite.
Catcher
Gary Sanchez (NYY): $5,200 at CWS
If you’re familiar with my articles, you know that I love to pay up for catcher. That’s just what I’m going to do here, as Sanchez is easily the best option on the board. His hitting profile is simply absurd, posting a .428 xwOBA and .349 ISO this season. Those are simply some of the best numbers among any players, let alone catchers. That hitting portfolio is backed up by 20 dingers in just 50 games played, which is also one of the best rates in the majors. Facing Reynaldo Lopez should only help; the Chicago righty is pitching to a 6.21 ERA and 1.61 WHIP.
