Fantasy Baseball Streaming Hitters: Week 11

Fantasy Baseball Streaming Hitters: Week 11

There is a ton to talk about in the Week 11 slate, so let’s not waste too much time. Our goal today is to use the schedule to gain a games-played advantage in head-to-head leagues. Let’s dive into it.

A Look at the Schedule

Week 11 presents plenty of streaming opportunities. Nine teams (Diamondbacks, Braves, Red Sox, Cubs, Rockies, Pirates, Cardinals, Rays, Rangers) have seven games this week. Conversely, five organizations (Reds, Indians, Astros, Brewers, Giants) play just five games. The remaining 16 teams have six contests.

In a weekly lock league, it is difficult to start any player ranked outside the top 100 who has only five games. Managers should look to replace them with a seven-game option off their bench or currently on the waiver wire. Here is a peek at the top additions playing seven who are owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Top Pickups

Ian Desmond (OF – COL): 36% owned
The Rockies claim the top spots this week because of their schedule. They have seven home games (three against the Cubs and four versus the Padres). They are also scheduled to face four left-handed starters in Week 11.

Desmond, a career .278/.329/.462 hitter against lefties, is in line for a massive week with Coors Field boosting his stats.

Raimel Tapia (OF – COL): 9% owned
Tapia is a lefty, but he is playing every day. He is only a career .248 career hitter against left-handers with three of his eight home runs. To alleviate some fears, however, Tapia is a career .338/.381/.554 hitter at Coors Field who has looked better against southpaws this season (14-for-50). Expect a standout week from the Rockie.

Brendan Rodgers (2B/SS – COL): 19% owned
The rookie is not playing every game, but Rodgers figures to start plenty this week with four lefties taking the bump. He is a talented prospect who could break out in Week 11.

Avisail Garcia (OF – TB): 48% owned
Garcia is currently one of the hottest hitters in MLB. In 13 games since May 21, he is hitting .357/.410/.643 with four home runs. Garcia has gone on long stretches of hot play before, and this could be another one. He continues to bat in the middle of the order and produce for the Rays. Add him with confidence for Week 11 and beyond.

Christian Walker (1B – ARI): 25% owned
The Arizona Diamondbacks travel east this week to play three in Philadelphia before visiting Washington for a four-game weekend series. They are scheduled to face seven right-handed starters in Week 11.

Walker is hitting .258 against righties this season with nine of his 11 home runs. The first baseman also has all three of his steals versus right-handers. Walker is hitting .295 on the road and just .210 at home, so it could be a massive week for him.

Gregory Polanco (OF – PIT): 36% owned
The Pirates travel to Atlanta and Miami this week and are scheduled to face exclusively right-handed starters. Polanco is a career .263/.331/.444 hitter against righties with 62 of his 77 home runs and 76 of his 80 steals.

Yandy Diaz (1B/3B – TB): 30% owned
Diaz is playing well this season, hitting nine home runs in 45 games. The Rays have seven home games this week, and Diaz crushes at Tropicana Field, where he’s batting .313/.389/.625 in 2019. Expect solid production in Week 11.

Bryan Reynolds (OF – PIT): 27% owned
The 24-year-old rookie is off to a fast start, batting .346/.404/.549 with five home runs in 41 games. His success shouldn’t come as a massive surprise because Reynolds hit .312/.373/.472 during his four seasons in the minors. He does not possess a ton of power or speed, but he is fine add for batting-average help.

Kyle Schwarber (OF – CHC): 46% owned
Don’t look now, but Schwarber is heating up. He had a .354 OBP during May and has pushed it to .360 so far in June. Schwarber also has seven home runs since May 1. For his career, he is a much better hitter against righties, and the Cubs are scheduled to face five of those starters in Week 11.

The Cubs also play three games at Coors Field in Colorado to start the week before traveling to Los Angeles to face the Dodgers for four games. Schwarber deserves a look in Week 11.

Mitch Moreland (1B – BOS): 19% owned
The Red Sox have a favorable schedule in Week 11. They play four home games against the Rangers before traveling to Baltimore to face the Orioles over the weekend. Boston is also scheduled to face six right-handed starters.

Moreland is expected to be activated off the IL on Friday. Despite his time on the shelf, he still has 13 home runs and 34 RBIs this season. He is also a career .254 hitter with 140 of his 160 home runs against righties. A strong week should be ahead for the Red Sox first baseman.

Kolten Wong (2B – STL): 22% owned
Wong has six home runs and nine steals already this season. His career splits are nearly identical in batting average, but Wong possesses more power and steals more against righties. The Cardinals travel to Miami and New York (Mets) in Week 11. That schedule sees them facing five right-handed starters. Wong is a fine middle infield option for the coming slate.

Jarrod Dyson (OF – ARI): 12% owned
Dyson continues to play well this season, hitting .264 with a .354 OBP for Arizona. He has three homers and 12 steals on his tally as well. For his career, Dyson has always performed better against right-handed starters. He has a .258 career batting average against them with 191 steals and all 17 of his home runs. The Diamondbacks face seven right-handed starters this week, so add Dyson if you are looking for a stolen-base option.
