A streaking Ryan McMahon gets a four-game series at Coors Field in Week 13.

Week 13 is here, and fantasy baseball managers know the drill by now. We are taking a look at the upcoming schedule with an eye toward maximizing your games played in head-to-head leagues. Let’s jump right into it.

A Look at the Schedule

Week 13 is a smaller slate in terms of games played. Eight teams (Diamondbacks, Braves, Cubs, Rockies, Dodgers, Mets, Phillies, Giants) have seven contests this week. Conversely, six organizations (Orioles, Red Sox, Reds, Yankees, Padres, Cardinals) play just five games. The remaining 16 teams have six contests.

As always, it is difficult to start any player outside the top 100 whose team only has five games. Instead, replace them in your lineup with someone playing seven times. Here are the top adds owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo Leagues.

Top Pickups

Ryan McMahon (1B/2B/3B – COL): 24% owned
McMahon is riding a hot streak at the moment. Over the last 14 days, as of Friday, he is hitting .372/.413/.465. The 24-year-old is playing every day and crushes left-handed pitching. The Rockies have four home games and are also scheduled to face four left-handed starters in Week 13. Get McMahon in your lineup.

Christian Walker (1B – ARI): 20% owned
Fantasy managers are underselling Walker, who should be owned in more than 20 percent of leagues. Walker has 13 home runs and four steals in 285 plate appearances this season. He should be a fine source of power with a few steals the rest of the way.

The Diamondbacks do not have the best Week 13 schedule, hosting the Dodgers for three games before heading to San Francisco. Arizona is also scheduled to face four right-handed starters and three lefties. Add Walker for his season-long value and enjoy the seven games in Week 13.

Jeff McNeil (2B/3B/OF – NYM): 47% owned
McNeil is a strong source of batting average, hitting .339 with a .407 OBP. He will not wow fantasy managers with counting stats, but he can help you win a week. McNeil crushes righties (.887 OPS), and the Mets are scheduled to face seven starters of that handedness in Week 13.

Alex Verdugo (OF – LAD): 18% owned
The Dodgers have seven road games next week, traveling to Arizona for three before heading to Colorado for a four-game set. Verdugo continues to produce, hitting .294 for the season. He may not be a massive source of counting stats, but add him for a safe batting average if necessary.

Amed Rosario (SS – NYM): 39% owned
Rosario is a strong middle-infield option who has eight homers and nine steals — three this week — on the year with a .250 average. He takes a hit in on-base percentage leagues, but the 23-year-old could feast on two division rivals next week. The Mets play in Philadelphia for four games before traveling home to host the Braves.

Jason Heyward (OF – CHC): 19% owned
Heyward has 10 homers and four steals with a .250 average and .348 OBP for the season. He can be a streaky hitter, though. The Cubs are hosting the Braves before a weekend series against the Reds in Cincinnati. Heyward has fared well against his former team and currently holds a .805 OPS against righties, five of which the Cubs are scheduled to face in Week 13.

Jarrod Dyson (OF – ARI): 13% owned
Dyson is a steals add. He has already swiped 16 in just 209 plate appearances at-bats while also carrying a .349 OBP. If you need steals to win your matchup, consider starting the Diamondbacks outfielder.
