While there are a few decent low-cost options on the mound, Wednesday’s 14-game MLB main slate feels like a night to pay up for pitching. This is made possible by the big-name value on the hitting side including a “free space” bat in a great spot that is way underpriced. You can also go cheap at a couple of positions to still roster a nice collection of hitters while snagging a couple of high-priced aces on the mound. There could be some Independence Day eve fireworks on Wednesday night.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Walker Buehler (LAD): $10,900 vs. ARI
While I am advocating to pay up at both pitching slots in DraftKings cash games on Wednesday night, in order to do so, you will likely need to forgo Chris Sale to make it work. Buehler has just as much upside as Sale while pitching at home against the Diamondbacks. Buehler has allowed a mere .221 wOBA in his home starts this season with a 30.7% strikeout rate. He has allowed just a .218 wOBA to Diamondbacks hitters in 52 career plate appearances while posting a 26.9% strikeout rate against them. Buehler is also a huge Vegas favorite.
