FanDuel MLB Lineup Advice: Tuesday (7/16) PREMIUM
With so many questionable pitchers and so many great hitting options on this slate, we’re going all value plays! Every pitcher in this article will be below $7,000 and every hitter will be well below $4,000. That should allow you to pick and choose between these guys and pair them with elite bats from teams like the Rockies, Cubs, Yankees, Red Sox, Brewers and Rangers.
Dylan Cease (CWS) $6,700 at KC
Cease is one of the best prospects in the White Sox organization and it’s tough to fade him in such a spectacular matchup. Between 2018-19, Cease provided a 3.14 ERA and 1.24 WHIP at the minor league level. More importantly, he struck out an absurd 233 batters across 192.1 innings, which is simply one of the best K rates around. That elite stuff should allow him to be successful against an offense who ranks 23rd in runs scored, 24th in OPS, 25th in xwOBA and 27th in xSLG.
Alex Mills (CHC) $5,500 vs. CIN
Ok, this play is a bit nuts but bear with me here. Mills has actually been pretty good in his short time at the Majors, pitching to a 3.07 FIP while generating a 30 percent K rate. That was obviously done in a small sample size but it’s still special numbers nonetheless. What I like here is that he gets to face the Reds, with Cincy ranking 26th in K rate, 25th in runs scored and 27th in xwOBA. Not to mention, Mills is pitching at home for the much better lineup and he should enter this game as a projected -160 favorite.
