There are numerous enticing offensive options in favorable spots tonight, and the top-end pitching options leave a lot to be desired. With that in mind, the pitching selections included below don’t include any of the five-figure hurlers. The most expensive pitching selection suggested is a southpaw who’s thrived at home and has a ceiling-boosting matchup in his pitcher-friendly home digs. He’s joined by a risky southpaw in a great draw. The third touted pitcher is a right-handed starter making his debut in “The Show” against a righty-heavy offense. There’s no full-blown stack featured among the hitting picks, but there are also no one-off picks. Instead, there are three separate pairs of teammates I’m loving and suggesting using in lineups together tonight.

Wade Miley (HOU): $9,100 vs. Mariners
Miley enjoyed a surprisingly strong season last year with the Brewers, but his 2.57 ERA was significantly lower than his ERA estimators such as his 3.59 FIP, 4.30 xFIP, and 4.66 SIERA, per FanGraphs. This year, he’s once again posting a significantly better ERA (3.06) than his ERA estimators (4.34 FIP, 4.35 xFIP, and 4.53 SIERA). The veteran lefty does an excellent job of keeping the ball on the ground (53.3% GB% this year), and he’s bumped his strikeout rate up from 14.8% last year to 20.5% this season while slightly improving his walk rate from 8.0% to 7.7%. His overall numbers pale in comparison to his work at home, though. In 56.1 innings at home this year, he has a 1.92 ERA (3.88 FIP and 3.66 xFIP), 0.96 WHIP, and 23.8% K%. The southpaw’s newfound ability to punch out batters at a reasonable clip should serve him well tonight against a punch-out prone Mariners team. Seattle’s 26.2% K% against lefties this year is the fourth highest, according to FanGraphs. Miley’s my favorite pitching option on tonight’s slate.
