The Wednesday night MLB DraftKings slate provides 11 games of action on the diamond. It is a great night to take a “Stars and Scrubs” approach on the hitting side including a min-priced cheat code that opens up the entire slate. On the mound, there are quite a few options to consider while the primary decision revolves around Max Scherzer and how much confidence you have in his health and pitch count on Wednesday night.
As always, be sure to pay close attention to the lineups when they are released and monitor the weather leading up to game time. For reference throughout the season, be sure to bookmark our overview of MLB Park Factors and how to Use Weather to Your Advantage in MLB DFS.

Max Scherzer (WAS): $11,000 vs. BAL
At the moment, I am all set to roll with Scherzer despite some concerns about his back and pitch count on Wednesday night versus the Orioles. The opponent is a big factor in my belief that he is worth his salary since it should only take him about five innings to rack up enough Ks and a win to provide a high floor. The Nationals are the biggest Vegas favorite on the slate while Scherzer has dominated Orioles hitters over his career with a .260 wOBA allowed and a 34.8% strikeout rate over 92 plate appearances. If the news around Scherzer leading up to first pitch sounds concerning or you don’t want to take the chance on him then I’d recommend paying down for Jake Odorizzi or Anthony DeSclafani rather then going up to Gerrit Cole.
