It is slim pickings on the five-game MLB DraftKings evening slate with a special start time of 6:40 PM (Eastern). There are primarily two teams on the hitting side that will draw almost all of my attention regardless of playing cash games or GPPs. In order to fit in some of those bats, we’ll need to take a chance with our second starting pitcher slot. Let’s take the leap of faith together.

Pitchers
James Paxton (NYY): $9,000 @ BAL
Paxton has been shaky at times over his five starts with a 6.04 ERA, but he has just a 3.35 xFIP during that stretch. He has also kept his strikeout stuff posting a 34.5% strikeout rate in those outings. Paxton should see some positive regression on Wednesday night against an Orioles squad that has a league-high 30.7% strikeout rate against lefties over the last 30 days. Coming in as a huge Vegas favorite, Paxton should have the highest floor/ceiling combo of the slate working for him.
