A Look at the Schedule

Fantasy managers have plenty of streaming chances in Week 20. The Texas Rangers have a massive eight games on the schedule this week. 11 teams (Orioles, White Sox, Rockies, Tigers, Astros, Royals, Angels, Pirates, Cardinals, Rays, Nationals) have seven games this week. Conversely, three organizations (Athletics, Phillies, Giants) play just five contests. The remaining 15 teams have six games.

The goal is to maximize games played. Remove any Athletic, Phillie, or Giant that is not a top-100 option from your lineup. Replace them with a player playing in seven or eight games. Here are the top streaming options owned in fewer than 50 percent of Yahoo leagues.

Top Pickups

Kevin Newman (2B/SS – PIT)  – 18% owned
Newman is crushing it this season. He is batting .304 with a .348 OBP including seven homers and ten steals. Newman bats better against left-handed pitching but steals almost exclusively against righties. The Pirates have seven home games in Week 20 and Newman is a fantastic stream.

Niko Goodrum (1B/2B/SS/3B/OF – DET) – 32% owned
Goodrum has 11 homers and 12 steals while batting .252 this season. Goodrum also has eligibility at every position. The Tigers face two lefty starters in Week 20. Goodrum destroys left-handed pitching to the tune of batting .374 this season. Start him any time Detroit faces a lefty. He is a fine Week 20 fill-in as well.

Ryan McMahon(1B/2B/3B – COL) – 36% owned
McMahon should be owned in more leagues. The versatile Rockie has 14 homers and four steals while batting .265 with a .345 on-base. The Rockies play seven road games in Week 20, but McMahon is still a worthy stream.

David Fletcher (2B/SS/3B/OF – LAA) – 34% owned
Fletcher can hit. The 25-year-old is batting .284 with a .343 OBP this season. Fletcher destroys right-handed pitching. This season he is batting .306 with a .358 OBP. The Angels are set to face five righty starters in Week 20. Stream Fletcher to boost your average.

Miguel Cabrera (1B – DET) – 36% owned
He is not Miguel Cabrera the perennial MVP candidate anymore, but the 36-year-old can still hit. He is batting .284 with a .347 on-base this season. That includes hitting .324 with .388 OBP against left-handed pitching. If looking to boost up your average at first base in Week 20, Cabrera is the target.

Kole Calhoun (OF – LAA) – 30% owned
Calhoun has 26 home runs this season with 72 runs and 60 RBI. He is batting .247 against right-handed pitching this season. The Angels face five right starters in Week 20. They play seven road games, all in Texas, with four against the Rangers and three versus the Astros.

Renato Nunez (1B/3B – BAL) – 34% owned
Nunez has 26 homers this season. The 25-year-old is batting .246 with 60 runs and 68 RBI. He does not take a ton of walks, but Nunez is hitting homers. He is also batting .272 against left-handed pitching this season. The O’s are set to face four lefty starters in Week 20.

Leury Garcia (SS/OF – CWS) – 22% owned
Garcia can fill in as your middle infielder. The 28-year-old is having a strong season. He is batting .289 (after batting over .270 the two previous seasons) with seven homers and 14 steals. Garcia has also scored 73 runs. Garcia should hit near the top of their lineup and continue hitting down the stretch.
