We’re now halfway through the preseason, with just one game left where the starters may play meaningful snaps, though some teams haven’t played their starters much at all to this point. As we’ll be doing each Monday through the preseason, I’ll give you my biggest takeaways, along with updated rankings. Here are the highlights of my notes from Week 2 of the preseason:

• The hype surrounding Chiefs rookie running back Darwin Thompson is real. He’s not the biggest back at 5-foot-8 and 201 pounds, but Andy Reid hasn’t always relied on the biggest running backs to handle a lot of work. He’s worth a pick in late rounds as someone who may have a bigger role than initially expected.
• Cowboys running back Tony Pollard looked good while playing with the starters, though it’s unclear if he’d be a workhorse if Ezekiel Elliott’s holdout continues. He’s someone who played a minimal role in college, which is typically a warning sign. Still, his stock improved in Week 2 of the preseason.
• Despite fumbling twice in Week 2, Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones has looked fantastic when it comes to his ball placement. He’s going to be taking over for Eli Manning at some point in 2019.
• Seahawks rookie wide receiver D.K. Metcalf needs a small procedure on his knee, which Pete Carroll described as “minor.” They aren’t ruling him out for Week 1 of the regular season, but this almost guarantees he comes off the bench to start the year.
• The Ravens may have to involve rookie running back Justice Hill more than anticipated with how good he’s looked. He’s going to be a thorn in Mark Ingram’s side.
