DraftKings MLB Lineup Advice: Friday (9/6) PREMIUM
Tonight’s touted trio of pitchers are of the cheap variety. The most expensive hurler suggested is an $8,500 option in a dreamy matchup. Saving on arms tonight will allow for spending up on some pricey hitters or spreading salary across numerous modestly priced hitters. Two of my favorite pricey hitting options from a costly stack are included among the hitter suggestions. They’re joined by another pair of power-packed teammates and a high-upside one-off play.
Homer Bailey (OAK): $8,500 vs. Tigers
Bailey was smacked around by the Astros in a start on July 17, but he’s been in good form for his new club since. In his last seven starts spanning 41.2 innings, he owns a 3.89 ERA (4.10 SIERA), 1.10 WHIP, 4.1% BB%, and 22.5% K%, according to FanGraphs. His strong line in his last seven starts even includes a messy 7-earned run, 4.2-inning start in Chicago against the Cubs. He’s held the opposition to three runs or fewer in his other six starts in that stretch.
The veteran righty has a luscious matchup with the Tigers tonight. Detroit’s tied for last in wRC+ (74) against righties this year, per FanGraphs, and they have the highest strikeout rate (26.9% K%) against them. Bailey and the host A’s are big -230 favorites tonight, per DraftKings sportsbook. He’s my preferred SP1 tonight.
