Q1. Who is your favorite buy-low trade candidate at this point in the season and who are you willing to give up for him?

Will Fuller (WR – HOU)
“One player who I am very interested in buying low on is Will Fuller of the Houston Texans. Fuller is just the WR65 in PPR scoring through four weeks after being drafted as a WR3 in most leagues. He has yet to make an impact and owners may be getting antsy, but I think better days are ahead and will come sooner rather than later. Despite entering Week 5 just outside the top 50 in receiving yards, the fourth-year wideout ranks 12th in air yards. His 17.3 average depth of target (aDOT) is fourth among receivers with at least 10 targets. In short, he is getting the opportunities and it is just a matter of time before he begins to cash in. I think the time to buy is now, as his upcoming schedule is favorable. Among the cornerbacks he is most likely to line up against this month, only Desmond Trufant (who may shadow DeAndre Hopkins) has the speed to keep up with Fuller, and none are above average in coverage, per Pro Football Focus. If you can buy him for an overperforming player like D.J. Chark or A.J. Brown, I would highly recommend acquiring the Notre Dame alum.”
– Mick Ciallela (Fantrax)

“The popular answer will be DeAndre Hopkins, but what about Will Fuller? Fuller has seen at least six targets in the last three games and is facing positive matchups in the next four games (Falcons, Chiefs, Colts, and Raiders). The results this season have left a lot to be desired, but I can’t help but look back at 2018 when he had three 100+ yard games in eight starts. His cost should be moderately lower now than coming into the season. You can sneak him in a package deal as a “deal sweetener” or maybe send a handcuff back to someone’s starter.”
– Matthew Bowe (Razzball)

Stefon Diggs (WR – MIN)
“I am targeting Diggs, as he will be seeing an increase in production. His first four game splits are low since he only has 19 targets on the year, which puts him on pace for 76. Over the last three years, Diggs saw 112, 95, and 149 targets, respectively, so he will see increased volume. Other than going 1-for-7 versus Green Bay, he’s caught every other ball aimed at him, and I would offer a John Brown or Jarvis Landry swap.”
– Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Odell Beckham Jr. (WR – CLE)
“You should aim to buy elite playmakers at their absolute floor, which is where Beckham’s price is right now after a two-catch, 20-yard performance. The Browns’ offense has nowhere to go but up and you’re going to want one of the best playmakers to ever step foot on the field. Think about Davante Adams prior to his Thursday night performance. That’s going to be Beckham before long. I’d be willing to give up the red-hot Mike Evans for him, though you can likely land Beckham for someone in the Kenny Golladay range.”
– Mike Tagliere (FantasyPros)

David Montgomery (RB – CHI)
“Before the season began, the Montgomery had some circulation in fantasy as a sneaky league winner. He already owns the Bears’ backfield almost by default because of the decline of Tarik Cohen. Montgomery is a timely and perfect addition ahead of the London game and here’s why. After the Bears return from London, they have their bye and Montgomery will be fresh, Trubisky should return, and the Bears have a favorable schedule with few exceptions. I would be willing to part with Marlon Mack or Aaron Jones to acquire him no sweat.”
– Richard Savill (Fantasy Six Pack)

Chris Carson (RB – SEA)
“It’s not that the price on Carson is a giveaway, but he’s under market. People are overreacting to the fumbling problem and missing the fact that he breaks tackles like crazy and has the lead role on a team that doesn’t greatly disperse carries. Seattle obviously wants to run the ball most of the time too. Carson is a lot safer than the market realizes.”
– Scott Pianowski (Yahoo! Sports)

Q2. Who is your favorite sell-high candidate at this point in the season and what would you try to get in return?

Tyrell Williams (WR – OAK)
“Williams is off to a hot start, but his current scoring pace is unsustainable. He is the only receiver in the NFL to score a touchdown in each week. That has resulted in him ranking as a WR1 (11th overall) in standard scoring. Scoring touchdowns is not what we refer to as a “sticky” stat, meaning it is less sustainable than, for example, targets. Williams ranks just outside the top-40 receivers in that metric as well as in receiving yards. In fact, Williams has averaged just 37 yards per game over his last three contests. That is not the production we look for in an elite fantasy wideout. I would not go out of my way to sell him for pennies on the dollar. I do believe that he will be in the WR3/flex conversation most weeks. However, if you can find an owner who believes Williams can maintain his current scoring pace, then sell. In exchange for Williams, I would be looking for a wide receiver with higher upside who may be underperforming just a bit. Some examples may include Robert Woods or Calvin Ridley.”
– Mick Ciallela (Fantrax)

Matt Breida (RB – SF)
“I’m going with Breida here. If you thought the 49ers’ backfield was hard to judge before, just wait until Tevin Coleman comes back, which is supposed to be this week. The 49ers’ running backs have had the best-case scenario through three games, as they’ve started 3-0. Despite that, Breida is outside the top-30 running backs and behind guys like Peyton Barber. If you can find someone to give you anywhere close to RB2/3 value, you should take advantage. Maybe you can land someone like David Montgomery, who’s well on his way to a workhorse role.”
– Mike Tagliere (FantasyPros)

Robert Woods (WR – LAR)
“I love Woods, but I think you can get a lot in return for him right now. Woods has 38 targets so far and is coming off a massive 13-catch, 164-yard game. Cooper Kupp gets the most looks with 46 targets and Brandin Cooks has 31 with the chance for higher yardage totals. Woods and Cooks are usually seen as 1A and 1B, so I feel you can get an almost RB1 in the Aaron Jones/Kerryon Johnson value range in return.”
– Dan Yanotchko (EDSFootball)

Chris Godwin (WR – TB)
“My readers know that I love Godwin and think that he is a great talent in this league. Despite what we’ve seen a couple of times so far this season, I believe that Mike Evans is still Jameis Winston’s go-to target for the rest of the year. I’m sure that there are big weeks left to be had with Godwin, but I don’t think his value will be higher than it is right now for 2019, especially after having two games this season with only three receptions. I would try to acquire DeAndre Hopkins or maybe Odell Beckham Jr. in a package deal if necessary. If you need a running back, perhaps Kerryon Johnson makes for a good target.”
– Matthew Bowe (Razzball)

Melvin Gordon (RB – LAC)
“If you’ve held onto Gordon, this is the time move quickly. Austin Ekeler has established himself enough in the Chargers’ offense to maintain at least some level of the status quo he’s earned to this point. It is not even that far-fetched to suggest that there are weeks in which Ekeler out-touches Gordon down the stretch and it could even be the norm. The Chargers didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for Gordon returning from the holdout. It’s more of a truce reconciliation than anything. I would try to get players like Chris Carson, Leonard Fournette, or Todd Gurley.”
– Richard Savill (Fantasy Six Pack)

Marlon Mack (RB – IND)
“Mack concerns me for several reasons. The Colts’ offense as a whole will take a hit if T.Y. Hilton can’t stay healthy, Mack has his own injury concerns, and he’s not going to catch the ball much in game scripts where the Colts fall behind. If you’re blessed with good running-back depth, I’d look for a high-volume receiver, even if he’s a WR2. Maybe one of the Rams’ wideouts will do.”
– Scott Pianowski (Yahoo! Sports)
