DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (10/8)
We’ve got another nice eight-game slate in the NHL this evening. Several teams are in the midst of long road trips as five of the eight games feature an Eastern Conference vs Western Conference battle.
Evgeny Kuznetsov (WSH): $4,900 vs DAL
Kuznetsov returns from a three-game suspension to take on the Dallas Stars. In Kuznetsov’s last two season openers, he has two goals, three assists, for five points. The Washington power play will be happy to see him, as this unit that is usually one of the most proficient in the league currently sits below 20% through the first three games. Dallas will also likely turn to their backup goalie in Anton Khudobin, although he is a capable option.
Evander Kane (SJS): $5,300 @ NSH
Kane makes his season debut tonight after being suspended for three games to start the season. Kane hit the five-shot bonus in a whopping 32% of his games last season. At the moment, it’s unclear where he will fit into the lineup against the Predators, but I think he will come out with something to prove regardless.
Keith Yandle (FLA): $3,500 vs CAR
This one is straightforward. I don’t understand why Yandle is only $3,700 on DraftKings. He finished last season with 39 power-play points, quarterbacking the second-best unit in the league. Nothing has changed. This seems like an over-correction for how well Carolina has been playing defensively. For this price, Yandle is well worth it.
John Gibson (ANH): $7,500 @ DET
The questions around John Gibson’s fantasy value have never been about his talent, it’s been about the team in front of him. Fortunately playing DFS allows us to pick our spots. Detroit has impressed early on with a 2-0 record and nine goals scored, but I expect to see some correction here. With Anaheim allowing 34.5 shots per night, Gibson is always a candidate for the 35 save bonus. If he can pick up a win, he should be this evening’s top goaltender.
