FanDuel NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday (10/15)
As we pass by Columbus Day, the Avalanche are the only team still boasting an undefeated record. Meanwhile, the Devils are just looking for a win in regulation. It’s a solid Tuesday night of seven games in the NHL, so let’s take a look at some DFS options.
Erik Haula (CAR): $5,500 @ LA
Haula has started the season red hot, with five goals in six games. Goals are something the Kings give up a lot of, 5.2 per game thus far this season to be exact. Haula may be a third-line player, but flanking him is Ryan Dzingel and Martin Necas. Depth like that is why Carolina finds themselves 5-1. I expect Haula to keep the momentum going against LA.
Andrei Svechnikov (CAR): $5,500 @ LA
Svechnikov has gotten off to a fast start with eight points in six games. He is an elite prospect that looks poised to make a jump to the next level this season. Meanwhile, the Kings just can’t keep the puck out of their net. Through six games they’ve surrendered 26 goals. There will be plenty of opportunity for Svechnikov to get on the scoresheet if LA can’t tighten it up.
Matthew Tkachuk (CGY): $6,500 vs PHI
Tkachuk is turning into a megastar in the NHL. He’s a gamer that always turns it on when the going gets tough. The Flyers may not be the Broad Street Bullies of the past, but this still seems like a spot that Tkachuk will excel. In two games against the Flyers last season, Tkachuk recorded six points. Look for him to get on the sheet tonight.
Matt Dumba (MIN): $4,300 @ TOR
I’m going back to the well on Dumba. He is scoreless in his last three games, but continues firing shots on goal and he should see an uptick in blocked shots against Toronto. He was leading all defensemen in scoring last season before exiting with an injury. As he plays over 22 minutes a night and continues to man the point on the Minnesota powerplay, there should be ample opportunity for Dumba to pick up fantasy points against Toronto.
Thatcher Demko (VAN): $7,500 vs DET
With Markstrom on the shelf, the Canucks will have to turn to Demko for the foreseeable future. Demko is a highly-touted prospect, selected 36th overall in the 2014 draft. You may remember him from starring on Team USA in the World Juniors tournament in 2015. Installed as a -150 favorite for tonight’s matchup, the Canucks are currently the biggest choice on the board. Despite Demko’s inexperience, for this price, it’s worth trying to find the win.
