Perhaps it was just me, but it felt like Week 4 provided more clarity than any other week thus far in the 2019 season. Perhaps it really is time to worry about JuJu Smith-Schuster. Joe Mixon just might be in for a down season. Chris Godwin is a legitimate WR1. When you’re looking for trades, it’s ok at this point to accept that some of your preseason expectations have to be changed.

Although it was a strange week for quarterbacks, there is little movement in the trade values at the position. Be it poor offensive line play, holding the ball too long, or unwillingness to run consistently, Deshaun Watson’s play knocks him down a tick, and Tom Brady throwing up a clunker against a legitimate defense is a bit of a cause for concern. But, as usual, it is relatively status quo for the position. Most often, you can stream your way to the playoffs.

After seemingly moving ever closer to losing significant touches to Ryquell Armstead, Leonard Fournette reasserted his stronghold on the Jaguars’ starting running back position. Fournette rumbled for 225 yards on 29 carries in the Week 4 win over the Broncos. Fournette ran hard and, even if you hold the same opinion of him as a runner that you did prior to that game, it’s hard to deny that his leash got longer. Eventually, the touchdowns will come for Fournette, and his continued involvement in the passing game keeps him as an RB1 with a relatively high floor.
Mark Ingram’s game against the Browns, and in particular Baltimore’s poor defensive showing in the game, bring Ingram down just a peg. The bottom line is that Baltimore’s defense is simply not strong, as shown by their recent games against teams with better than sub-par offenses. Although Ingram caught four passes against the Chiefs in a negative game script, he caught just one (for zero yards) against the Browns. Ingram ran well and remains a strong RB2. But if his heavy involvement in the passing game in Week 3 was an anomaly, his value certainly takes a minor hit.
As does Marlon Mack’s, after the running back’s ankle injury and poor performance against the Raiders. With injuries on the defensive side of the ball, the Colts are likely to be facing some negative game scripts (particularly this week against the Chiefs). Mack has just four catches through four games, and Frank Reich has spoken glowingly of Nyheim Hines’ ability to excel in the passing game. Add the ankle injury into the mix and Mack’s value falls a bit.
Some additions to the trade chart include Ronald Jones II, who really looks on the verge of taking the Tampa Bay job for good, Darrel Williams, who has shown himself to be viable enough to have a role even when Damien Williams comes back, and Jordan Howard, whose dominant performance on Thursday against the Packers should keep him heavily involved in the short-term.

If forced to roster just one Bucs wide receiver, fantasy owners should lean toward Chris Godwin over Mike Evans, by just a hair at least. Godwin has more receptions (26-18) and yards (386-368) than Evans, is tied with four touchdowns and has seen just one fewer target. Even with Godwin’s strong play thus far, Evans draws and should continue to draw the opposing team’s best cornerback, which should leave Godwin free to continue to garner significant production. Bruce Arians basically told us in the preseason that Godwin would be used this way, so there’s little reason to doubt it continuing. He’s a solid WR1.
The same cannot be said for JuJu Smith-Schuster, who, if not for a 76-yard catch-and-run touchdown in Week 3, would have fantasy owners running away from him. Smith-Schuster is incredibly talented and things will be better than they were against the Bengals on Monday night, as the Steelers should eventually let Mason Rudolph (attempt to) do more. But as a WR1? No. No longer. You’re still starting Smith-Schuster every week. Just not with as much confidence.
Other movers this week include Sterling Shepard, who has a good rapport with Daniel Jones, D.J. Moore, who does not with Kyle Allen, and D.J. Chark, who is the obvious and only receiver to own in Jacksonville.

As usual, there is not much of note about tight ends. Zach Ertz’s lack of production early on, even with the injuries to the Eagles receivers, is somewhat troubling, but he remains an obvious, strong every-week starter. And Will Dissly’s early production, combined with strong praise from Russell Wilson, makes him someone worth considering if you’re desperate at the position.
