Bobby Sylvester’s 2019 Week 12 Rankings (Start or Sit Answers)

Bobby Sylvester’s 2019 Week 12 Rankings (Start or Sit Answers)

We are now just hours away from the Colts and Texans battling it out for the AFC South lead. If you’ve got start/sit questions, I’m here to answer them all with my rankings. I’ll post this article every Thursday afternoon to help you make your most challenging decisions each week. If you aren’t reading it until Saturday or Sunday, don’t worry, I’ll continue to update it every few hours for you all. As always, if you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out on Twitter @bobbyfantasypro. Before we dive into the rankings, let me tell you about four start/sit options that I am especially opinionated about this week.

Carson Wentz (PHI): QB #7 vs ECR #14 vs SEA
Has Wentz struggled in the last month? Sure. Has he played Minnesota, Buffalo, Dallas, Chicago and New England? You betcha. Ok, so he isn’t Russell Wilson, but when he has a decent matchup he has produced 25, 20, 22, 20, 12 and 22 fantasy points this year. This week he takes on Seattle which isn’t a gimme, but certainly makes him a solid play.

Latavius Murray (NO): RB #27 vs ECR #32 vs CAR
I can’t seem to understand why most of the industry is recommending Jamaal Williams, Royce Freeman and Derrius Guice over Murray as starts this week. All three are the #2 backs on their (lesser) offenses, all three have more difficulty matchups and all three have been seeing fewer touches of late than Murray. With the game script likely to get out of hand, Murray may actually end up with 15+ touches versus this horrendous Panthers run defense.

Nelson Agholor (PHI): WR #34 vs ECR #53 vs SEA
Agholor may not be an especially good football player but he has targets coming his way this week which you can only safely guarantee from about 15 or 20 guys most weeks. When Alshon has been out of the lineup, Agholor has seen 11, 12 and 9 targets this season. Yeah, he didn’t do anything last week versus New England because, well, they are the Patriots, but in the other two samples, he had 25 and 23 fantasy points. And as mentioned before, Seattle isn’t the rock-solid secondary they once were.

Noah Fant (DEN): TE #6 vs ECR #12 @ BUF
Buffalo is one of the worst matchups in football for opposing wide receivers so let’s just get that out of the way. But regardless, would you rather start a tight end with 8 targets against the best defense or 4 targets against the worst? That is what we are deciding between this week at the tight end position and I don’t know about you, but I’m taking the targets every day of the week, especially when they come from such an electric athlete like Fant.
