DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 10

DraftKings NFL Value Plays: Week 10

Welcome to Week 10 of the NFL season. Once again, we have a small slate as there are six teams on bye this week. They are the Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Redskins. I will never understand why the NFL has weeks with two teams on bye and then other weeks where there are six teams.

Each week, I will provide a recap of the prior week’s picks. The cheaper the player, the higher the value you are hoping to get. The ultimate goal is to get three-to-four times the price of each player. The higher the value, the better the play.

Quarterback: Matt Moore – 15 points (3.13x), Derek Carr – 19.6 points (3.56x)
Running Back: Mark Walton – 7.1 points (1.58x), Jaylen Samuels – 20.3 points (5.08x)
Wide Receiver: Robby Anderson – 5.3 points (0.96x), Danny Amendola – 5.9 points (1.26x)
Tight End: Dallas Goedert – 7.9 points (2.55x)

The goal of this article is to provide daily fantasy football advice for DraftKings value plays. Implementing a few value plays in your lineups allows for the opportunity to play the top-tier studs. The key with a value play is to find a player with a high floor that also has the opportunity for a breakout game. These value plays will be for DraftKings’ main slate each Sunday. Non-tight ends under $6K and tight ends under $4.5K will be considered value plays.

Quarterback

Daniel Jones (NYG): $5,700 @ NYJ
Daniel Jones has struggled in his first season as an NFL quarterback, although, he has been able to take advantage of bad defenses. He scored 32.2 DraftKings points against the Detroit Lions’ defense and 39.2 DK points against Tampa Bay’s defense. This is setting up as a nice matchup for Jones against the New York Jets. The Jets’ defense has given up an average of 284 passing yards and three touchdowns over the last two weeks. This is basically a home matchup for Daniel Jones and he should be able to succeed against the Jets.

Ryan Tannehill (TEN): $5,100 vs. KC
Ryan Tannehill has looked rather impressive in his three starts this year. He’s gone over 300 yards in two of the three games and has multiple touchdowns in all of them. The Kansas City Chiefs’ defense has allowed three touchdown passes in consecutive games. With Patrick Mahomes likely coming back this week, the Tennessee Titans will be forced to score a lot of points. Tannehill should be playing from behind, which can help his fantasy stats.

Running Back

David Montgomery (CHI): $5,300 vs. DET
Montgomery has had back-to-back breakout games after a slow start to his NFL career. Now facing one of the worst run defenses in the league, he should keep rolling. Josh Jacobs torched this defense last week for 120 yards and two touchdowns. Montgomery doesn’t quite have the same talent as Jacobs, but he should be able to produce similar results. The Chicago Bears do not trust Mitchell Trubisky, so they should lean on Montgomery this week.

Ronald Jones II (TB): $4,300 vs. ARI
Bruce Arians declared Jones the starting running back going forward, which is always great news. He finally is able to pass Peyton Barber on the depth chart. Jones has 32 touches compared to Barber’s 15 so it has been obvious that Jones was working his way into the lead running back. This week against the Arizona Cardinals sets up as a fast-paced, high-scoring game. Vegas has the total for this game at 52 points, which is currently the high for the week. At a nice discount, this is a great opportunity to get exposure to this game.

Wide Receiver

Zach Pascal (IND): $5,300 vs. MIA
With no T.Y. Hilton last week, Pascal scored 18.6 DK points. It seems as if Hilton will miss significant time, and Pascal had no issues replacing him. Whether Jacoby Brissett or Brian Hoyer are starting, he should be able to produce similar results. Both quarterbacks are capable of getting the ball to Pascal, and a matchup against the Miami Dolphins is always a positive.

D.J. Moore (CAR): $5,200 @ GB
Moore has had double-digit DK points in six of eight games this year. He also has at least eight targets in each of his past four games. The Carolina Panthers will continue to rely on Christian McCaffrey, but Moore is still their number one wide receiver. Assuming the Green Bay Packers’ offense gets back on track this week, the Panthers will need to score points to keep pace.

Tight End

Mike Gesicki (MIA): $3,100 @ IND
Finding value at the tight end position is always difficult. Gesicki formed a nice rapport with Ryan Fitzpatrick last week, catching six passes for 95 yards. Expecting a repeat performance is unlikely, however, as the Dolphins lost Preston Williams this week, which may force more targets to their young, talented tight end. Fitzpatrick loves to throw the ball and Gesicki may become a favorite target of his as the year progresses.
