DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday 11/19

Nov 19, 2019

Price may just be the top goalie play once again tonight

The Sharks are starting to make their move, rattling off six straight victories. Tampa Bay will look to do the same over these next few weeks as they have several games in hand over the field. Can anyone stop the Islanders? Please, not this again in Buffalo. As the season chugs along through November, let’s take a look at a huge 13-game night in the NHL.

Center

Nathan MacKinnon (COL): $8,200 @ CGY
If Nathan MacKinnon has to do it himself, it appears he’s ready to do it himself. After losing both of his wingers in Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog, MacKinnon has just kept going. He is solidifying himself as a top-three player in this league. He has eleven points in his last five games. He has eclipsed ten shots on goal twice in his prior eight contests. Calgary is giving up over three goals per game, so I am happy to open up my wallet on MacKinnon this evening.

Wing

Bryan Rust (PIT): $5,500 vs NYI
Bryan Rust got a late start to the year due to injury, but since his season began on October 26th he has been excellent. In nine games played, he has six goals, four assists, for ten points. Additionally, he has fired over five shots in two of those contests. Rust is skating with the top group alongside Evgeni Malkin and Jake Guentzel. With Crosby’s absence, I expected to see Malkin step up his game as he always does.  Rust will be a benefactor of that. The Islanders are stingy, forfeiting the fewest goals in the league, but there were seven goals scored in their battle with the Penguins on 11/7 when they blew a three-goal lead in a 4-3 loss.

Oskar Lindblom (PHI): $4,700 @ FLA
Lindblom has quietly put together a great start to the season. In 20 games, he has nine goals, seven assists, and 16 points. Over his past ten games, he has nine points. He is playing alongside Sean Couturier and Travis Konecny and on the second power-play unit. Tonight they visit a Florida team that cannot keep pucks out of their net. After signing Sergei Bobrovsky to a seven-year, $70 Million dollar deal, the Panthers still find themselves surrendering 3.55 goals per game, good for fourth-worst in the league. I expect this to be a high-scoring affair, and hopefully, Lindblom can stay on the score sheet.

Matthew Tkachuk (CGY): $6,800 vs COL
Calgary has hit the skids a bit, losing their last four games and scoring only three goals total in those contests. Personally, I’m not worried. Those four games were against Vegas, Arizona, Dallas, and St. Louis, four teams that find themselves near the top of the league in fewest goals surrendered. I expect the Flames will bounce back against a beat-up Colorado team. Tkachuk has ten goals and ten assists this season, and he is always a candidate to have over five shots in a game. Most importantly, he is the heart and soul of the team and I expect him to lead the charge as they look to right the ship tonight.

Defense

Oscar Klefbom (EDM): $6,200 @ SJS
Klefbom is a streaky player. After starting the season with nine points in seven games, he disappeared with 11 straight games without a point. It looks like he’s back on his game recently, as he’s tallied six points in his last four games. The Edmonton offense looks like it cannot be stopped, and Klefbom continues to see top power-play duty. The Sharks are starting to put things together with six straight wins, but they still allow plenty of goals. Even if Klefbom is held off the score sheet, you can always rely on him for several shots and blocks every night, rendering him useful regardless in DFS.

Goalie

Carey Price (MTL): $8,200 @ CBJ
There aren’t too many big betting favorites tonight. Although the Canadians are on the road in Columbus, I think Carey Price is one of the best bets in goal to find a win. Price has a three-game winning streak going, averaging 30 stops a night, and a sub 2.00 GAA over that span. They will visit a Blue Jackets team that has scored the fewest goals in the NHL and currently sit near the bottom of the standings.
