Players to Buy

Saquon Barkley (RB – NYG)
The concerns that lie with Barkley have been there all along. He’s on a bad team with a mediocre offensive line with a rookie quarterback. The only thing that’s changed is the fact that he hasn’t broken many big plays. Those will come in time when you have a running back who’s locked into 18-plus touches per game. Some of the touchdowns that have been going to Darius Slayton and Golden Tate will start going to last year’s fantasy MVP. He won’t come cheap, but he’ll come cheaper than he should based on his recent performances.

Alvin Kamara (RB – NO)
There were some who were concerned about Kamara’s role coming back from his ankle injury, and if they had any concerns, they weren’t laid to rest after he totaled just 12 touches against the Falcons in Week 10. The fact that Latavius Murray totaled just seven touches should make you feel even better about Kamara’s role, as that’s a 63/37 split, which is great. This duo has averaged 27.8 touches per game prior to the Falcons game this year, which would amount to 17.5 touches per game for Kamara. He’s still an elite RB1, so go and gauge what it would take to acquire him.

Odell Beckham Jr. (WR – CLE)
Three weeks ago, Beckham was part of the “sell” column. Why? He was about to go into a brutal schedule that included Stephon Gilmore, Chris Harris Jr, and Tre’Davious White. Now that the gauntlet is over, it’s time to ask the Beckham owner what he wants. He has two matchups with the Steelers, one with the Bengals, and one with the Dolphins. You won’t get him cheaper than you can right now.

Keenan Allen (WR – LAC)
When you’ve been a dominant force in fantasy football for a handful of years, things will turn around for you. Allen gets targeted far too often to fail for much longer, and it allows you to swoop in and buy low on the superstar receiver. Most forget that Allen was the No. 1 receiver in fantasy football throughout the first three weeks. There are owners willing to let go of him for someone like Courtland Sutton, and you should jump at that chance.

David Montgomery (RB – CHI)
After scoring multiple touchdowns against the Eagles, Montgomery totaled just 60 yards and no touchdowns against the Lions. Owners will be screaming into the sky saying they cannot trust him on a weekly basis, but truth-be-told, it’s going to be hard to find a workhorse who’s locked into 15-plus touches per week who comes as cheap as Montgomery does. It also doesn’t hurt that Mitch Trubisky showed signs of life last week, which could provide an overall scoring boost for the offense.

Players to Sell

Amari Cooper (WR – DAL)
Prior to the Week 10 game against the Vikings, Cooper ranked 34th among wide receivers in terms of expected fantasy points based on how many targets he’s had, where they’ve taken place, and who they’re coming from. So, when you see he ranks 12th in actual PPR points, you know that regression is bound to happen. Not just that, but his knee injury could cause him to miss time at any point.

Adam Thielen (WR – MIN)
If you’re a team that’s fighting to make the fantasy playoffs, Thielen should be a player you’re jumping to sell. Not only has he scored much more than he should’ve with the targets he’s received, but the biggest concern is that he’s not likely to be available to you until Week 13. The Vikings have their bye in Week 12, which should make it easy to give him an additional week of rest in Week 11.

Marlon Mack (RB – IND)
He’s coming off a decent game, which should allow you the opportunity to sell at a decent price, but the biggest reason you want to sell is due to the fact that he has a brutal schedule when it matters most. During the fantasy playoffs, Mack will play against the Bucs, Saints, and Panthers. The Bucs and Saints are both allowing less than 3.5 yards per carry, and we know that Mack isn’t heavily utilized in the passing game. It’s the reason he’s been a low-end RB2/high-end RB3 for much of the season.

Deshaun Watson (QB – HOU)
If you’re someone who looks at the upcoming schedule, it’s not pretty for Watson. He’s going to have some brutal matchups over the next month, that include games against the Ravens, Patriots, and Broncos. The matchup with the Broncos is the most worrisome because it comes the first week of the fantasy playoffs. If you find someone to pay top-dollar, he’s a decent sell candidate.

Austin Ekeler (RB – LAC)
It would seem that Melvin Gordon is back to being… Melvin Gordon. That’s meant Ekeler has seen six or less carries in five of the last six games. He’s involved in the passing-game, but he’s caught four or less passes in four of the last five games. So, when you add everything up, he’s getting 10 or less touches per week, which is not enough to consistently produce RB2 numbers.
