Week 10 Target Analysis (2019 Fantasy Football)

Week 10 Target Analysis (2019 Fantasy Football)

Week 10 of the NFL season was one of the more unpredictable weeks of the 2019 regular season. Rarely do you see one team win as a double-digit road underdog, yet we saw both the Atlanta Falcons win in New Orleans and the Miami Dolphins win in Indianapolis as double-digit road dogs. We also saw the Tennessee Titans upset the Kansas City Chiefs at home, despite being 6.5-point underdogs. The Pittsburgh Steelers upset the Los Angeles Rams at home, despite being 4.5-point favorites. Finally, picking Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins to lose on the road in primetime is usually a good decision, but the Vikings ended up winning at the Dallas Cowboys as 3-point underdogs. It was a crazy unpredictable week filled with big upsets and surprise performances.

Some of those upsets were due to solid passing performances, but a lot of the upsets were teams just running the football and playing solid defense. There were six quarterbacks that managed to top the 300-yard passing mark and four of those six quarterbacks also had three or more touchdown passes. Let’s take a look back at Week 10 and all the passing numbers and targets for the week for all 32 NFL teams. If you want to look at how all the players did with targets, check out Fantasy Pros Most Targeted Players.

Arizona Cardinals: QB Kyler Murray had his best game since Week 6 when he had 340 yards passing and three passing touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons. In a similar bad defense matchup, Murray had 324 yards and three passing touchdowns. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, the result was different than Atlanta, as they lost 30-27 at Tampa Bay.

Also unfortunate for fantasy owners is that WR Christian Kirk had the bulk of the production with 10 targets, six receptions, 138 yards, and three touchdowns. That left little for the rest of the offense, as RB David Johnson and RB Kenyan Drake combined for seven receptions for 14 yards with Johnson having one reception for eight yards and Drake tallying the rest. WR Larry Fitzgerald had eight targets, eight receptions, and 71 yards. WR Andy Isabella also added three receptions for 78 yards.

Fitzgerald had his best game since Week 2 and Isabella is becoming the deep threat in this offense with his second game over 75-yards receiving. It remains to be seen if he can sustain that on just four targets in the last two games. My guess is his floor is too low if he is only going to see the ball three times or less per game. The Cardinals travel to San Francisco to face a tough San Francisco 49ers defense.

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons really did not have an offensive explosion in this game, in fact, I think most people would have guessed the Falcons lost the game if they were told Atlanta had only 26 points in the game. They controlled the game with a strong defensive effort and running game.

QB Matt Ryan had only 35 pass attempts, 182 yards passing, two passing touchdowns, and one interception. WR Julio Jones led the way with three receptions for 79 yards and the touchdowns went to TE Austin Hooper and RB Brian Hill. WR Calvin Ridley had a dud with five targets, three receptions, and just 28 yards receiving. Those 28 yards were good for second on the team.

This game just did not play out the way most people expected it to play out. The Falcons never trailed in this game and thus had no reason to ever abandon the running game. That has not been the case in the previous eight games and my guess is this is more statistical outlier than a new trend. The Falcons travel to the Carolina Panthers this week. They will be without Hooper, who could miss a couple of games with a sprained MCL. That could open up some more targets for Ridley, who has been up and down this year.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens had a very efficient passing day with QB Lamar Jackson going 15 for 17 for 223 yards, three touchdowns, no picks, and a QB rating of 158.3 in a 49-13 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. The theme is still the same though, even with the Ravens scoring 49 points, there are only two players that are consistently worth owning in the passing game.

WR Marquise Brown had four receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown and TE Mark Andrews had six receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns. The only other player with a fantasy-relevant day in the passing game was TE Nick Boyle with four targets, four receptions, 78 yards, and no touchdowns. The problem is that he has only one touchdown on the season and this was the first game he broke 30 yards since tallying 58 yards in Week 3. Boyle is still a long way away from being a consistent streaming option, especially if Andrews is healthy.

Buffalo Bills: It is time for me to copy and paste my weekly Bills take. WR John Brown is a consistent WR3 and he tallied 11 targets, five receptions, and 77 yards. WR Cole Beasley can sometimes join the mix and he had six targets, four receptions, and 74 yards. Sometimes there is enough for a third player, but not usually. This week TE Dawson Knox had six targets, four receptions, 55 yards, and no touchdowns. There is hardly ever room for a fourth player and as expected, nobody had more than 20 yards receiving. RB Devin Singletary had been emerging as that third threat, but he had seven targets, three receptions, and only eight yards.

This offense just is not explosive enough to trust players other than Brown and Beasley in the passing game with Singletary having value because he also led the team with eight carries. The Bills have a much easier matchup on the road against a Miami team that has suddenly won two games in a row.

Carolina Panthers: QB Kyle Allen did not have a terrific game, but he did finish with 307 passing yards and one passing touchdown. There was some fantasy production in the passing game for all of their starting players. WR D.J. Moore had 11 targets, nine receptions, and 120 yards. TE Greg Olsen had 10 targets, eight receptions, and 98 yards. WR Curtis Samuel had eight targets, four receptions, 35 yards, and the only receiving touchdown of the game. RB Christian McCaffrey was still involved in the passing game finishing with seven targets, six receptions, and 33 yards. There were only two more targets and one more reception in the entire passing game, which went to WR Jarius Wright for 21 yards.

This is still the McCaffrey Show, but on this day all three of the other fantasy options offered some solid production. They will play the Atlanta Falcons at home who are coming off a stunning road upset of the New Orleans Saints where they held that explosive offense to nine points. I would not expect them to do that two weeks in a row.

Chicago Bears: The bad news is that QB Mitchell Trubisky only threw the ball 23 times and gained only 173 yards. It was a typical vanilla day for the Bears offense that scored only 20 points against the Detroit Lions defense. What constituted an offensive explosion in the passing game is that he also had three touchdown passes.

WR Allen Robinson has been the one consistent fantasy option in the passing game and he had nine targets, six receptions, and 86 yards. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, he failed to find the end zone. Nobody else on the team had more than 40 yards receiving, but WR Taylor Gabriel, RB Tarik Cohen, and TE Ben Braunecker all found the end zone.

The struggling Bears offense hits the road this week to face the Los Angeles Rams. When these teams played each other in Chicago last year, the Bears won by the score of 15-6.

Cincinnati Bengals: The Bengals trailed 14-0 after the first quarter, 28-10 at the half, and 49-10 after three quarters. That should mean a lot of passing attempts, but the Bengals still ran the ball 40 times and passed it only 30 times. QB Ryan Finley had just 167 yards passing, one passing touchdown, and one interception in his Bengals debut. WR Tyler Boyd had six receptions for 62 yards and no touchdowns and the only player to score was TE Tyler Eifert. He had two receptions for 20 yards and that one touchdown.

It is hard to trust this offense if they are going to throw the ball only 30 times in a game where they trailed by this many points. Garbage time fantasy points count as much as stats accumulated in a competitive game, but the Bengals were not even good for garbage time points this week. They travel to the Oakland Raiders in Week 11 to face a Raiders team that is 30th against the pass and 32nd in passing touchdowns allowed. I still do not know if that would be enough for me to trust this passing game.

Cleveland Browns: It is still utterly amazing to me that this team has only three wins on the season and two are against teams the Baltimore Ravens on the road and the Buffalo Bills at home. Those teams are a combined 13-5 on the season. When the Browns apply themselves, they can be a tough opponent and this constituted an offensive explosion for the Browns.

Despite scoring only 19 points, QB Baker Mayfield had his first multi-touchdown passing game of the season. WR Jarvis Landry had 10 targets, nine receptions, 97 yards, and one touchdown. WR Odell Beckham had 12 targets, five receptions, 57 yards, and no touchdowns. WR Rashard Higgins had the other touchdown reception.

The big development was RB Kareem Hunt made his Browns debut and he tallied nine targets, seven receptions, 44 yards, and no touchdowns. RB Nick Chubb dominated the carries 20-4, but it was Hunt that dominated the targets 9-4. If Hunt is going to be that involved in the passing game, there may be a role for him as a weekly fantasy play in PPR leagues. The Browns have a tough matchup at the Pittsburgh Steelers suffocating defense on Thursday Night Football.

Dallas Cowboys: The Minnesota Vikings jumped out to a 14-0 lead, which meant that Dallas was in passing mode more than normal. The Cowboys passed the ball 46 times to just 22 rushing attempts and QB Dak Prescott finished the game with 397 yards passing and three passing touchdowns.

WR Amari Cooper had 14 targets, 11 receptions, 147 yards, and one touchdown. WR Michael Gallup added 10 targets, four receptions, 76 yards, and one touchdown. I think the outlier in this game was WR Randall Cobb. He had an uptick in normal production with eight targets, six receptions, 106 yards, and one touchdown. That was his best game since Week 1 when he had four receptions, 69 yards, and one touchdown. He had not scored a touchdown since that game and he had only one game with more than 50 yards receiving, which was in Week 5.

The Cowboys face the Detroit Lions in Week 11. The Lions allow the ninth most points to fantasy wide receivers, but I doubt Cobb has as big of a role in Week 11 as he did in Week 10.

Denver Broncos: The Broncos are going to go with QB Brandon Allen, which gives us only one game to look at for predicting production in this game. He played before the Week 10 bye in Week 9 and tallied 20 pass attempts, 193 yards passing, two passing touchdowns, and no picks in a win over the Cleveland Browns. Minnesota is 14th against fantasy quarterbacks, 28th against fantasy wide receivers, and 14th against fantasy tight ends. There may be some room for fantasy relevance in the passing game, but the only players I would really trust are WR Courtland Sutton and TE Noah Fant.

Sutton is on pace for 1,230 yards receiving and seven receiving touchdowns. Fant is coming off a game with three receptions, 115 yards, and a touchdown and he could develop a bigger role in this offense with WR Emanuel Sanders now in San Francisco. After those two players, there is just not enough talent at the quarterback position to create a floor or ceiling that is high enough to justify rolling with the other wide receivers and tight ends.

Detroit Lions: Backup QB Jeff Driskel was not horrific, but he was not good either in relief of QB Matthew Stafford. Driskel had 46 pass attempts, but only 269 yards passing and one passing touchdown.

WR Marvin Jones Jr. led the way with five receptions for 77 yards and WR Kenny Golladay had three receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown. The only other player to top 30-yards receiving was TE T.J. Hockenson with three receptions for 47 yards.

Stafford has fractured bones in his back and he has a hip injury. It remains to be seen how eager they will be to trot him out there in a season where they are 3-5-1 and have very little chance of making the playoffs. They host the Dallas Cowboys next week and they have little chance of being fantasy relevant in the passing game if Stafford is not back and able to play through his injuries.

Green Bay Packers: The Packers played in a snowstorm on Sunday, but it was not a blizzard and it was not a statistical outlier. QB Aaron Rodgers has five games this year where he has thrown for one touchdown pass or less and this was one of those games as he finished with just 29 pass attempts, 233 yards, and no touchdown passes. Instead, RB Aaron Jones scored all three rushing touchdowns for the Packers offense.

WR Davante Adams looked healthier this week with 10 targets, seven receptions, 118 yards, and no touchdowns. TE Jimmy Graham was the only other player to break 30 yards receiving, thanks to a 48-yard pass play that gave him two receptions for 59 yards.

The Packers are on bye this week, but their passing game can still be a bit of an adventure for fantasy purposes. Adams is always a great option when healthy, but the other players have a very low floor. They will travel to a tough San Francisco defense after the Week 11 bye.

Houston Texans: The big news in Houston is that WR Will Fuller returned to practice this week and that means he has a chance to play for the first time since Week 7. We all know about WR DeAndre Hopkins, he accounts for 30 percent of the targets in the passing game. Even though Fuller has not played since Week 7, he is still second on the team with 49 targets and nobody else on the team has more than 32 targets.

TE Darren Fells has established some fantasy value with six receiving touchdowns, but his floor is very low with only 31 targets, 24 receptions, and 245 yards. The Texans play the Baltimore Ravens on the road this week, if they can have Fuller back for this game it will give them a second viable fantasy option in the deep passing game.

Indianapolis Colts: Fantasy owners need to appreciate the importance of game planning more than they sometimes do. The Pittsburgh Steelers were not expecting to face QB Brian Hoyer, he was thrust into action when QB Jacoby Brissett was injured. Hoyer had a three-touchdown game against a defense that never expected to face him.

Even though the opponent was much easier this week and the Colts were at home, the Dolphins had the benefit of game-planning for Hoyer. The result was 204 yards passing, one passing touchdown, and three picks. TE Eric Ebron led the way with 12 targets, five receptions, and 56 yards. TE Jack Doyle added three receptions, 44 yards, and one touchdown. Nobody else had more than 35 yards in the passing game.

The Colts have a tough home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars next week and they need Brissett healthy. If Hoyer is behind center, it really caps the upside of their skill position players.

Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jaguars had a bye last week and the big news is that QB Nick Foles is on pace to start this week at Indianapolis. Backup QB Gardner Minshew was a mixed bag behind center. On the one hand, he posted a 92.8 QB rating and he had 2,285 yards passing and 13 passing touchdowns in nine games. He also had a QBR of just 45.9, which was just 21st in the league. Fantasy owners do not care if the passing numbers are efficient or help the team win the game. NFL teams do care and that is the big reason the Jaguars are going back to Foles.

The Jaguars’ two best wide receivers with Foles out have been WR D.J. Chark and WR Dede Westbrook. Chark had 70 targets, 43 receptions, 692 yards, and six touchdowns. Westbrook added 55 targets, 32 receptions, 383 yards, and one touchdown. Foles does throw a good deep ball, so there should be a role for Chark in this offense as the deep passing threat and it remains to be seen how Foles distributes the ball compared to Minshew. The Jaguars have a tough road test this week against the Indianapolis Colts.

Kansas City Chiefs: QB Patrick Mahomes had a fantastic fantasy game with 446 yards passing and three passing touchdowns in a 35-32 loss to the Tennessee Titans. WR Tyreek Hill had 19 of the 50 targets for the Chiefs and he turned those into 11 receptions, 157 yards, and one touchdown. TE Travis Kelce added seven targets, seven receptions, 75 yards, and one touchdown.

Those three players are slam-dunk starts in fantasy football, but the player that is creating some issues for fantasy owners is WR Mecole Hardman. I would be nervous playing someone that has six targets in the last three games. The issue is that he is a big-play machine and he has five receptions for 146 yards and three receiving touchdowns in those four games. That is a hard clip to keep up on that few targets. He plays a Chargers defense that is eighth against fantasy receivers on Monday Night Football this week. It remains to be seen if he can remain fantasy-relevant on that few targets.

Los Angeles Chargers: The Chargers passing game just continues to limp along. They played an Oakland team that has been torched by fantasy wide receivers, but WR Keenan Allen had only eight receptions on 11 targets for 68 yards and no touchdowns. That was an offensive explosion compared to the meager numbers he has tallied since Week 3. WR Mike Williams had just two receptions on three targets for 55 yards and TE Hunter Henry had four receptions for 30 yards and one touchdown.

The Chargers host the Chiefs on Monday Night Football, it remains to be seen if a long week since the Thursday Night Football loss will be enough to cure this passing game. The problem has not been passing yardage, they are eighth in the league with 2,701 yards passing. The problem has been only 14 passing touchdowns, which is 20th in the NFL. If they can score some touchdowns in the passing game, it would go along way to helping fantasy owners.

Los Angeles Rams: WR Brandin Cooks has already been ruled out for Week 11 against the Chicago Bears due to a concussion. That means that WR Cooper Kupp is going to continue to be the star in this offense, but unfortunately, he was held without a catch last week against the Steelers. WR Robert Woods had seven receptions for 95 yards and TE Gerald Everett had eight receptions for 68 yards. Those two players combined for 23 targets, while Kupp had only four targets on the day.

This was more about QB Jared Goff being terrible on the road, he has a QB rating of 76.4 on the road compared to 91.2 at home. The Rams have a tough matchup against the Chicago Bears, but they are back in Los Angeles, which should help Kupp return to WR1 status with Woods and Everett also being fantasy relevant in a tough home matchup.

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins were not flashy in the passing game, as QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had only 169 yards passing and ran in his only touchdown of the game. WR DeVante Parker dominated the targets as expected with 10, but he had only five receptions for 69 yards.

The Dolphins led 10-0 in this game and they tried to limit the mistakes and run the ball. It was a very conservative game plan and it worked with the Colts unable to do anything in the passing game. Parker should remain a WR3 now that WR Preston Williams is done for the season, but all other players have an extremely low floor. The Dolphins have a tough home game against the Buffalo Bills this week, so expect more meager fantasy numbers in the passing game.

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings were very efficient passing the ball with QB Kirk Cousins tallying 32 passing attempts, 23 completions, 220 passing yards, and two passing touchdowns. The problem from a fantasy perspective is that both passing touchdowns went to TE Kyle Rudolph, who finished the day with four receptions for 14 yards. Throw in RB Dalvin Cook being the leading receiver with seven receptions for 86 yards and there was not much left for anyone else in the passing game.

WR Adam Thielen was inactive for this game due to injury and WR Stefon Diggs led the wide receivers with three receptions for 49 yards. This is still one of the more unpredictable passing games in the league. The star players can have really low floors and unknown players or inconsistent veterans can explode at a moment’s notice. Diggs looked like he was becoming a fantasy monster with three straight 100-yard games, but now has four receptions for 53 yards in his last two games.

It will not be easier this week, as they host the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are not a good team, but they are second against fantasy wide receivers and 12th against fantasy tight ends.

New England Patriots: The Patriots are coming off their bye week, which can only be good news for 42-year old QB Tom Brady. Brady does have 2,536 yards passing and 14 passing touchdowns in nine games, but he has only four touchdown passes in his last four games and a bye week could be what he needs to regain his early-season form.

The last time we saw the Patriots, WR Julian Edelman and WR Mohamed Sanu combined for 25 of the teams 46 targets and RB James White was held to just three targets. I think that Edleman and Sanu will be heavily targeted against a suspect Eagles secondary and White is a player to be concerned about as the addition of Sanu and the return of RB Rex Burkhead have cut into his target totals.

New Orleans Saints: This stat will tell you all that you need to know about what an outlier game this was in New Orleans. The Falcons has played eight previous games and they had managed to record seven sacks in those games. Against the Saints, who had allowed only 12 sacks in eight games the Falcons managed to sack QB Drew Brees six times. Their pass protection and run blocking was a disaster on Sunday. Throw in 12 penalties for 90 yards and it is no wonder they scored only nine points and possessed the ball only 26:14.

Brees did end up with 287 yards passing on 46 pass attempts, but only the usual suspects were the fantasy-relevant players. WR Michael Thomas had 14 targets, 13 receptions, 152 yards, and no touchdowns. TE Jared Cook added 10 targets, six receptions, and 74 yards. RB Alvin Kamara added in 10 targets, eight receptions, and 50 yards. Nobody else had more than 15 yards receiving in this game.

Chalk it up to an outlier game where the Saints offense just decided to take an additional bye week. They should be back on all cylinders next week at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 32nd ranked pass defense.

New York Giants: The Giants were a disaster losing to the New York Jets, but QB Daniel Jones had 308 yards and four passing touchdowns. It was not a fantasy disaster with that type of passing game. The two players that have emerged in the passing game are WR Golden Tate and WR Darius Slayton. Tate had four receptions for 95 yards and two receiving touchdowns, but he was the second option in the offense. Slayton was the star of the passing game with 14 targets, 10 receptions, 121 yards, and two touchdowns.

Slayton is going to be a great addition for fantasy owners for the home stretch, but the downside is that the Giants have a bye this week. They do have a couple rough matchups at the Chicago Bears and at home against the Green Bay Packers. However, the end of the season is fantastic with a road game in Philadelphia, a home game against Miami, and a road game against Washington. Slayton could be a star in the fantasy playoffs if he is able to build on this performance.

New York Jets: Even against an awful Giants defense, QB Sam Darnold had only 230 yards passing and one passing touchdown. WR Demaryius Thomas led the way with nine targets, six receptions, 84 yards, and no touchdowns. WR Jamison Crowder had five receptions for 81 yards and the only receiving touchdown of the game.

I think WR Robby Anderson is a lost cause at this point. Since that breakout game against Dallas, he has not topped 45 yards receiving and he has not scored a touchdown. He had just one reception for 11 yards against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Jets have a great matchup at Washington, but it is very hard to trust anyone in this passing game. Crowder and Thomas are players that could provide some fantasy value for fantasy owners that have bye or injury issues, but they also have a very low floor playing on the worst offense in the NFL.

Oakland Raiders: QB Derek Carr was a way better NFL quarterback on Thursday Night Football than a fantasy quarterback. He was 21 for 31 with 218 yards, one touchdown, no picks and a QB rating of 98.6. RB Jalen Richard led the way with 43 receiving yards and FB Alec Ingold scored the only touchdown in the passing game.

I would not give up on TE Darren Waller or WR Tyrell Williams, but this was a reminder that the Raiders can win games without putting up explosive offensive numbers. They host the Cincinnati Bengals at home, which is a dream matchup against a team that has yet to win a game this year. Waller and Williams have a good matchup to rebound after a quiet Thursday Night Football performance.

Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles had a bye this week, but their treat coming off the bye week is the New England Patriots defense. The Patriots allow the fewest points, fewest yards, and second-fewest passing yards. Quarterbacks have a QB rating of 45.8 against them. The Patriots did have trouble slowing down the Baltimore Ravens offense, but the Eagles do not have a quarterback as mobile as QB Lamar Jackson and they are not the top-scoring offense in the NFL.

WR Alshon Jeffery and TE Zach Ertz could have some production in the passing game, but the Patriots are also coming off their bye and they have been the best defense in the league all season. Eagles QB Carson Wentz will have his work cut out for him in this very tough matchup. It will be hard to trust this offense to put up big numbers against the best defense in the league when they have had consistency issues against their entire schedule this year.

Pittsburgh Steelers: QB Mason Rudolph was not flashy, but he did have 242 yards passing and one passing touchdown in a 17-12 win over the Los Angeles Rams. He was very equitable in how he spread the targets around. He threw the ball 38 times, but managed to have three players he targeted seven times and another two players that he targeted six times.

WR James Washington had the biggest day with seven targets, six receptions, 90 yards, and one touchdown. The only other player that topped 50-yards receiving was WR Diontae Johnson with six targets, four receptions, and 64 yards receiving. WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, RB Jaylen Samuels, and TE Vance McDonald were the other three players that were targeted at least six times, but nobody was able to eclipse the 50-yard mark or score a touchdown.

The Steelers have the Cleveland Browns coming up on Thursday Night Football. That has the potential to be another low-scoring game with the defenses and running games taking a front seat to big passing numbers.

San Francisco 49ers: The big concern for the 49ers going forward is the injuries. They are coming off a heartbreaking loss on Monday Night Football to the Seattle Seahawks and have to turn around and face the Arizona Cardinals on a short week.

TE George Kittle missed Week 10 with a knee injury and he remains anything but certain to play in Week 11. WR Emanuel Sanders had seven receptions, 112 yards, and one touchdown when these teams played in Week 9, but he has a rib injury and he will likely be a game-time decision in Week 11. WR Dante Pettis has not been able to consistently produce in this offense and his role is on the downswing. WR Marquise Goodwin, WR Deebo Samuel, and WR Kendrick Bourne have all had their moments this year, but have too low of a floor to trust in fantasy football most weeks.

Hopefully, Kittle and Sanders will be healthy this week. If not, the 49ers could be a passing game to avoid, even against the Cardinals weak secondary.

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks had a thrilling win on Monday Night Football and they will have a week to celebrate before taking the field in Week 12 against a bad Eagles secondary. They have some injury issues to sort out and that starts with WR Tyler Lockett and his knee. Head Coach Pete Carroll says that Lockett will not miss any games, but the Seahawks coach is always optimistic when it comes to injuries and optimism is no friend to fantasy football owners.

WR DK Metcalf, WR Josh Gordon, and TE Jacob Hollister would all benefit with an uptick in targets if Lockett were unable to go in Week 12, but we will not have to worry about that until the injury reports come out in a week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: QB Jameis Winston was able to win at home against a bad Cardinals team, but he did not have a great fantasy day with 358 yards passing, one passing touchdown, and two picks. The one constant was that a tight end scored a touchdown against this Cardinals defense. TE O.J. Howard finally lifted fantasy owners’ sprits with four receptions for 47 yards and one touchdown. I would not chase that game though. The Cardinals have given up 68 receptions for 857 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns to tight ends this year.

The usual stars in the passing game were decent with WR Mike Evans having four receptions for 82 yards on six targets and WR Chris Godwin added in 12 targets, six receptions, and 74 yards. The one surprise was that Ronald Jones had only 11 targets, eight receptions, and 124 yards receiving on the season. In this game, he had eight targets, eight receptions, and 77 yards. It will remain to be seen if that is an outlier, but that passing action gave him 19 touches this week and keeps him as the preferred back to own in the Buccaneers offense.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans had a thrilling win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but that 35-32 win was largely due to the running game. RB Derrick Henry tallied 23 carries for 188 yards and two rushing touchdowns against the Kanas City Chiefs.

QB Ryan Tannehill did have 181 yards passing and two passing touchdowns, but fantasy numbers will rarely be plentiful on 19 pass attempts. WR Kalif Raymond led the team in receiving yards with 51 yards and it was a disappointing day for rookie WR A.J. Brown. He had hoped to see an uptick in production with WR Corey Davis sidelined, but instead saw one reception for 17 yards. WR Adam Humphries and TE Anthony Firkser scored the only touchdowns of the game in the passing game.

The Titans have a bye this week before hosting Jacksonville in Week 12. This still remains one of the leaner passing games in the league on an offense built around the power running game of Henry.

Washington Redskins: In their last five games, Washington has gained 78, 166, 50, 131, and 116 in net passing yards. That does not leave much room for anyone to have fantasy relevance. Their best offensive player in the passing game before the bye week was WR Terry McLaurin. He has only 14 targets, nine receptions, 89 yards, and no touchdowns in his last three games.

The bye week may allow them to hit the reset button and they could have a good game at home against a terrible New York Jets team, but I would not trust anyone on a passing offense that struggles to put up anything of relevance in the passing game.
