DraftKings NHL Lineup Advice: Tuesday 12/10

The Minnesota Wild are quietly creeping up the standings. Has Colorado played a single game with an entirely healthy roster? The Islanders have cooled off a bit, although they picked up a nice win against Tampa last night. Detroit continues to sink. Will the Maple Leafs or the Lightning finally start moving up into playoff position? We’re nearing the halfway point of the NHL season. Let’s take a look at another busy Tuesday night in DFS.

Center

Mark Scheifele (WPG): $6,600 vs DET
Scheifele is putting together another stellar season in Winnipeg. Through 30 games, he has 29 points. He has five points in his previous three games, with 14 shots over that span. The Jets will welcome the lowly Red Wings into town this evening. The Red Wings are surrendering a league-worst 3.97 goals against per game, a major in factor in why they are winless in their last ten outings. Scheifele is solidified on the top group alongside Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine, as well as on the top power play. Expect him to stay hot tonight.

Wing

Tanner Pearson (VAN): $4,500 vs TOR
Pearson is hot of late with seven points in his last five games.  He’s currently skating alongside Bo Horvat and Josh Leivo, as well as on the second power-play unit. The Canucks as a team have scored 24 goals over their last five games. The Maple Leafs are surrendering 3.24 goals against per game, good for ninth-worst in the league. I expect this to be a high scoring affair, and I think Pearson is worth a shot at this price.

Alex Tuch (VGK): $4,700 vs CHI
After an injury-plagued start to the season, Tuch has put together a nice campaign. Through 15 games he has nine points. He has seven points in his previous five games. The Golden Knights were defeated by the Rangers on Sunday 5-0. The last time they were beaten by five goals they went back out and scored five of their own the next night. I expect a spirited Vegas team this evening against a Chicago group that has surrendered five goals per game over their last five contests.

Defense

Miro Heiskanen (DAL): $4,600 vs NJ
Heiskanen has been one of the league’s biggest break out stars of the year. The former third overall draft pick has 21 points in 31 games. He has four points in his last four games and he shot the puck 15 times over that span. The good part about Heiskanen is he will chip in for fantasy points even when he isn’t on the scoresheet. Tonight the Stars are home to take on a Devils team that has dropped four straight and recently fired their coach.

Goalie

Henrik Lundqvist (NYR): $7,600 @ LA
There are some massive betting favorites on the board tonight, but you have to pay up for all of them (Fleury, Brossoit, Bishop). For a reduced price, I’m taking a shot on Lundqvist. He has been out sick lately watching his “backup” Alexandar Georgiev play lights out. The Rangers are in Los Angeles tonight to face a Kings team that have scored only ten goals in their previous six games. I’m hoping the Rangers didn’t party too hard in Vegas after their 5-0 drubbing of the Knights on Sunday. This feels like the right price.
