FanDuel NFL GPP Lineup Advice: Week 16 (2019)

FanDuel NFL GPP Lineup Advice: Week 16 (2019)

The Week 16 Sunday main slate on FanDuel isn’t the best set of games and matchups for stacking in GPPs. There are very few games with high Vegas point totals and most of the games that do have a high point total, feature heavy favorites which isn’t a good recipe for a back-and-forth shootout that we crave. So, this could be a week to focus on more one-off plays and avoid stacking to be a little bit contrarian and make your way to the top of the GPP leaderboard. That said, I have including a few stacking options to consider this week as we prepare for the holiday season. Happy Holidays!

So, with that let’s stack’em up for Week 16.

Stacking Options

QB Dak Prescott (DAL): $8,000 / WR Amari Cooper (DAL): $7,700
I typically try to shy away from using and recommending players from divisional games when they play for the second time during a season, but I’m going to make an exception this week for the Cowboys/Eagles tilt with so much on the line. The Eagles secondary has allowed a receiver top 130 yards with at least one score in each of the last three games. While Copper himself went for 106 yards on five catches in their first meeting. Prescott should see his ownership suppressed thanks to the questionable tag next to his name, but he should play and need to lead the Cowboys offense with a tough matchup on the ground for Ezekiel Elliott. Zach Ertz is the obvious bring it back player as by far the most reliable healthy target for the Eagles who has double-digit looks in five of his last six games.

Bring it back with: Zach Ertz (PHI): $6,900

QB Drew Lock (DEN): $7,300 / WR Courtland Sutton (DEN): $7,100
Lock has played well in two of his first three NFL starts with the lone exception coming last week on the road in Kansas City in the snow. Well, Lock will be back at home this week in good weather conditions for a much more favorable matchup against the Lions. The Lions have allowed a league-high 328 passing yards per game over the last five weeks while yielding three or more touchdown passes four times over their last six games. Courtland Sutton is the Broncos big-play threat in the passing game and has started to establish a good rapport with Lock with 22 targets in his three starts. I don’t trust any of the Lions players enough to bring this stack back with anyone.

Bring it back with: None

RB Marlon Mack (IND): $7,300 / DEF Colts: $4,800
It seems like Mack should be a chalky option on FanDuel given his salary and matchup. However, he is not getting that level of buzz likely thanks to his box scores the last two weeks. There is a huge gap between the level of competition in those games both on the road against the Saints and Buccaneers, compared to this week at home against the Panthers. The Panthers run defense ranks dead last according to FootballOutsiders Defense-adjusted Value Over Average (DVOA) metric which makes sense since they are allowing 145 rushing yards (31st) and 1.8 touchdowns (32nd) per game to running backs over the last five weeks. Mack should have a positive game script with the Colts as a touchdown favorite at home and could post his best game of the season. Pair him with the Colts defense who will face a rookie quarterback, Will Grier, making his first NFL start.

Low-Owned Stud

Alvin Kamara (RB – NO): $7,200
I get it, Kamara has found the end zone since Week 3 and he cedes some touches each week to Latavius Murray. However, Kamara is still a big part of the Saints offense with at least 15 touches in five straight games and has 15 red zone touches during that stretch. It is only a matter of time before Kamara’s touchdown drought comes to an end which could be this week on the road against the Titans. The Titans have allowed 1.25 touchdowns per game (29th) to running backs over the last five weeks. Kamara also typically posts better numbers on the road where the Saints lean more on their running game than they do at home in the dome. This could be a big bounce-back spot for Kamara.
