Fantasy Football Injury Report: Week 15 (2019)

Welcome to the final dreaded injury report. Professional football is a violent game, and your fantasy players are going to miss time because of it. Hopefully, you don’t have many names on this list.

The good news is this is, by far, the shortest injury report I can ever remember. The bad news is that the two names on this list are huge names.

Chris Godwin (WR – TB)
Just one week after losing Mike Evans to a hamstring strain, Chris Godwin has joined Evans on the shelf. Godwin had to be carted off the field during the team’s win over the Lions with a hamstring injury of his own. Head coach Bruce Arians told reporters after the game that the injury doesn’t look good. With the Bucs long out of contention, Godwin is not playing again this season. Breshad Perriman scored three times and should be joined by Justin Watson in two-receiver sets with Scotty Miller — who also suffered a hamstring injury Sunday — manning the slot, if he’s healthy. All three have WR3 potential. Tampa Bay faces off against the Texans Week 16 in what should be one of the highest totals of the week. While this certainly doesn’t help Jameis Winston, he’ll still need to be fired up as a QB1 given the matchup and his recent production.

Dalvin Cook (RB – MIN)
Playing through a shoulder injury, Dalvin Cook aggravated it Sunday and was quickly ruled out. I get the feeling he won’t be able to return for the fantasy championship, which is awful news. Alexander Mattison will be a league-winner if he can return from his ankle injury next week. If not, fire up Mike Boone because the starting running back for the Vikings doesn’t matter, you just need the guy getting the ball. Minnesota takes on the Packers in what will be a great matchup for running backs.
