DraftKings XFL DFS Lineup Advice: Week 4 (2020)

DraftKings XFL DFS Lineup Advice: Week 4 (2020)

Geoff Lambert looks at XFL DFS top plays for Week 4.

I did not see Week 3 coming. From Tre McBride’s breakout to the DC’s defense not showing up to Cam Phillips having back-to-back three-touchdown games, it was a great weekend of football and it made DFS Week 4 even tougher. Here are my top plays this week…

Quarterbacks

P.J. Walker (HOU) $12,000 @ DAL
Even at 12k, Walker has to be in your lineups, and there is enough value this week you should have no issues fitting him in. It was the Walker/Cam Phillps show last week with both players going for over 40-plus DK points.

Jordan Ta’amu (STL) $9,500 vs. SEA
Ta’amu is the cheapest of the four quarterbacks I feel comfortable playing this week and, despite his bad Week 3, I expect him to bounce back in a big way against the Seattle Dragons. Ta’amu wasn’t need last week as they had the game well in hand, a game they dominated from the start, eventually leading them to run the ball a staggering 42 times.

Running Backs

Lance Dunbar (DAL) $6,700 vs. HOU
Dunbar, despite being the fourth-highest priced running back on DK, is still underpriced. He went out in Week 3 and had more fantasy points (16.9) then he has had all season, nearly doubled the number of targets (11) he had in the first two games combined, and he was one yard short of scoring a touchdown twice last week, all this and DraftKings only raised his price $100. Oh, and he is playing the highest-scoring team in the XFL, there is a good chance the Renegades will have to pass to keep up, and Dunbar is the preferred receiving option out of the backfield.

Dujuan Harris (LA) $3,400 @ NY
I mentioned earlier that there is plenty of value on this slate to fit the 12k P.J. Walker, well here is the best value, Dujuan Harris. Fellow running backs Elijah Hood, Martez Carter, and Larry Rose have either been already ruled out or are very questionable to play this weekend. When you only have four running backs on your roster and three of them may not play, that fourth guy is going to get a ton of work. The Wildcats did activate Winston Dimel off injured reserve, but I wouldn’t expect him to have a big role in his first game back.

Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Tre McBride (LA) $8,100 @ NY
I think everyone, including myself, had the wrong Wildcat wide receiver in Week 3. We all rostered Nelson Spruce, and just as McBride did to the  Defenders’ defense, he burned us. After a huge breakout game against the team that many thought had the best defense in the league, McBride now gets to play a game against a team that may have the worst defense. His price isn’t nearly as high as it should be. Look for another big game from McBride, especially with Spruce already ruled out.

DeAndre Thompkins (DC) $5,200 @ TB
Thompkins has now been one of my value picks for three weeks in a row, and I’m 1-for-2 on getting it right. Last week was a terrible game for every Defender player and it was especially bad for quarterback Cardale Jones which in turn hurt Thompkins. This week’s matchup doesn’t look as tough with a matchup against the 0-and-3 Tampa Bay Vipers — I expect a huge bounce back from this entire Defenders’ team.

Defense

LA Wildcats $4,500 @ NY
The Guardians look terrible on offense and we don’t know who the quarterback is going to be. On the flip side, the Wildcats defense looks to be an entirely different team than the one that got lit up in Week 1. If things continue to go bad for the Guardians, we as DFS players may just want to start the defense that plays them every week this season.
