2021 Superflex Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft

2021 Superflex Dynasty Rookie Mock Draft

We’re now a couple of weeks removed from the 2020 NFL Draft. We’ve been able to analyze the landing spots of the rookies in-depth and how it relates to fantasy football, which means that we can afford to briefly turn our attention elsewhere.

From a true Dynasty Degenerate’s perspective, what better place is there to look to than the 2021 Draft Class?!

This class is shaping up to be truly loaded yet again with some amazing talents at the QB and WR positions. What could your next year’s first round rookie draft look like in a Superflex format? Who could be added to your Dynasty roster in just a year’s time?

We’ve got the answer right here.

2021 Dynasty Rookie Draft (Superflex)

1.01 – Trevor Lawrence (QB – Clemson)

Anyone who follows College Football in the slightest knows who Trevor Lawrence is…After winning the National Championship as a true freshman, Lawrence continued on last season to bring his team back to the title game again. Lawrence is a fantastic QB prospect and is currently the favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, if he chooses to declare. We’ll see if he can continue building on an already accomplished CFB career and solidify himself as the No. 1 QB off the board in SF leagues next year.

1.02 – Trey Lance (QB – NDSU)

If there is any QB in this class that has the potential to knock Trevor Lawrence off his QB1 pedestal, it’s Trey Lance from North Dakota State. The same school that produced Carson Wentz is now generating another pro prospect that is going to experience a meteoric rise in draft circles next offseason. Lance is a special thrower of the football and has an absolute cannon of an arm. He’s incredibly athletic too and has the ability to make things happen with his legs. There’s enough here on tape to believe that Lance could be the pick over Lawrence for a NFL team next April.

1.03 – Ja’Marr Chase (WR – LSU)

Ja’Marr Chase is coming off an incredible season that saw him put up 84/1780/20 in the SEC. This kid’s special and he’s drawing early comparisons to Julio Jones. While I’m not there yet, he certainly has the talent and skillset to be the first WR off the board in a loaded class. Chase will be an interesting player to monitor throughout the season though due to the vacancy of talent surrounding him at LSU. Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Joe Brady (Offensive Coordinator), Thaddeus Moss, and Clyde Edwards-Helaire have all left this prolific 2019 offense for the NFL, which means that Chase is unlikely to replicate his 2019 production. Can he still showcase enough to be the first WR taken in Dynasty rookie drafts?

1.04 – Travis Etienne (RB – Clemson)

Travis Etienne returning to Clemson for his senior year was certainly a surprise, but if everything goes right, he could solidify himself at the top of this 2021 RB class. Etienne has blazing speed and showed dramatic improvements across the board last season. He’ll be highly coveted by many NFL teams and has a very strong chance to be the first RB taken next April. If that happens, he belongs here at the 1.04.

1.05 – Rashod Bateman (WR – Minnesota)

When scouting Tyler Johnson last season, Rashod Bateman kept jumping off the screen nearly every single play. This kid is special and has a chance to be an impact player immediately in the NFL. If he continues developing the way that he has so far throughout his CFB career, Bateman will be a first-round NFL Draft pick and could go off the board even earlier than this in next year’s rookie drafts.

1.06 – Justin Fields (QB – Ohio State)

Justin Fields is an incredibly mobile QB and we’ve seen that translate into huge success for fantasy football QBs in recent years. For everything that Fields does well in the run game, he has things to work on in order to become a refined NFL QB. He struggles to read the full field and go through his progressions, he holds onto the ball way too long at times, and he doesn’t have the arm strength that other guys in this class do. Fields certainly can still progress and move his way up Dynasty rookie draft boards by next April, but there are reasons to be skeptical about his skillset translating immediately to the NFL level.

1.07 – Rondale Moore (WR – Purdue)

Rondale Moore’s an incredible athlete and a fun tape evaluation. While he took a huge step back from a production standpoint in 2019, for various reasons, Moore still shows flashes of being a playmaker in the NFL. He may be relegated to just a slot role, or schemed touches player, in the NFL, but he has the talent and skillset to be a force for fantasy football if he lands in the right offense.

1.08 – Justyn Ross (WR – Clemson)

Justyn Ross and Tee Higgins formed quite the pair in previous seasons for Clemson. Ross and Higgins win in similar styles and Ross has the potential to explode this CFB season. He’s a big-bodied receiver who can win in contested situations and above-the-rim. He has sure hands and will become a NFL QBs favorite target in the red zone immediately.

1.09 – Najee Harris (RB – Alabama)

Najee Harris was another player that I expected to declare this past draft cycle, but he chose to return and play one more year at Alabama. Najee’s a big, bruising back who can punish a defender in the open field. He also has tremendous hands out of the backfield and should carry the Crimson Tide offense this upcoming CFB season. He has the frame to withstand a large amount of carries and NFL teams will covet that in next year’s draft. Harris would certainly be a value pick here at the 1.09.

1.10 – Jaylen Waddle (WR – Alabama)

Jaylen Waddle is a special WR prospect. He’s an established route-runner, but also comes with blazing speed on the football field. He’s flashed continuously over the past couple of seasons and he now gets the opportunity to shine on the big stage after Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs have now left for the NFL. Waddle could skyrocket up draft boards by this time next April and assert himself into the conversation for the top-WR in this class.

1.11 – Tylan Wallace (WR – Oklahoma State)

It’s confession time…I wanted Tylan Wallace to declare this past season. After tearing his ACL though, he made the smart decision and returned to school. Wallace is a fun tape evaluation and has the potential, assuming he comes back fully healthy, to be one of the best WRs in CFB this season. I’m putting this out here right now that Wallace is going to be one of my most heavily targeted WRs in Dynasty rookie drafts in 2021.

1.12 – Seth Williams (WR – Auburn)

If you value WRs who can make spectacular and contested catches, Seth Williams is your guy. While he struggles to create separation consistently, he makes up for it with being able to box out smaller defenders with his large frame and reel in the catch downfield. Williams needs to improve on a few things to rise up Dynasty draft boards, but he’s fun to watch.
