Bobby Sylvester’s 2020 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings

Bobby Sylvester’s 2020 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings

Many dynasty rookie drafts have already taken place or will in the near future. I already released my rookie rankings and wanted to offer my full dynasty rankings today. There is no better time than in the middle of a lockdown to begin that dynasty league you’ve always been dreaming of. Get your league assembled then circle back around to these rankings for the startup draft! Or if you are already in a dynasty league, hopefully these can help you find some values on the trade market. The rankings below are for single-QB leagues. Before we get into the full rankings, let me tell you about five guys I like more than most other analysts in the industry:

Chris Carson (SEA): RB #19
Why is everyone so quick to want to push Carson out of a starting job? We are talking about a highly efficient 25-year-old runner in one of the most run-heavy offenses in football. Yes, they drafted Rashaad Penny but he hasn’t done much and is now expected to start the season on the PUP list. This will solely be Carson’s backfield for at least half of the season and likely much longer as he is only one year older than Nick Chubb and Dalvin Cook.

Matt Breida (MIA): RB #33
Sure, the Dolphins were pathetic on the ground last year but they had an incredible draft from the standpoint of patching up that historically terrible offensive line. Yes, Jordan Howard was signed this off-season but let’s not pretend he is going to be a three-down back. Rather, Breida is the much more capable runner and is likely to lead this backfield in touches. At just 25 years old and few miles on his record, we could see several solid RB2 seasons in the future.

Odell Beckham (CLE): WR #4
I know this one is going to turn some heads but that isn’t the point. I would sincerely draft Beckham ahead of Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans and even Davante Adams in a dynasty startup. Since 1970, Beckham has more fantasy points per game than any other receiver before their 27th birthday except Micahel Thomas and Julio Jones. Yes, he beat Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Calvin Johnson and Antonio Brown. He also bested fellow-27-year-olds, DeAndre Hopkins and Davante Adams. I’m all in on a bounceback.

A.J. Green (CIN): WR #27
So let me get this straight: Green has been a top 10 WR every single season he’s been healthy, was on pace for 1,233 yards and 11 scores in 2018 and we suddenly want to pretend he isn’t even a WR2 for 2020!? Couldn’t be me. If you want to win now in your dynasty league, you can get Green for an absolute bargain, apparently, as his expert consensus ranking is WR #46 behind players like Will Fuller, Tee Higgins and Brandin Cooks. Those are the types of players you might be able to trade him for.

Jarrett Stidham (NE): QB #30
This is for my fellow SuperFlex leaguers. I’m buying Stidham where I can. Many seem to be under the impression that Cam Newton, Joe Flacco or some other veteran is still bound to come in and win the job, but Belichick didn’t make a move in the draft and is apparently excited about what “Stid” can bring to the Patriots. After all, he looked excellent in the preseason last year and like it or not, he has plenty of upside with a head coach who turned Jacoby Brissett, Jimmy Garropolo and Matt Cassel into the same per 16 game stat-line as, get this, Deshaun Watson produced last year.
