FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 3 (Full Slate)

FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 3 (Full Slate)

Last week’s lineup was a gigantic disappointment. Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews connected for just one completion. Parris Campbell got carted off the field early. Ronald Jones scored, but he didn’t do anything else. Davante Adams was pedestrian. And Emmanuel Sanders just didn’t show up.

Sometimes, flops happen. Let’s try to right the ship with our Week 3 FanDuel full-slate lineup.

Quarterback: Gardner Minshew (JAX): $7,700

How about a little Minshew Mania to top our lineups? Minshew is averaging 23.13 points per game, which is the ninth-highest average among QBs who have started the first two games of the season. He now gets a favorable matchup at home against a Dolphins defense that allowed Josh Allen to throw for 417 yards and four touchdowns last weekend. Plus, the ‘Phins will likely be without cornerback Byron Jones, who is dealing with groin and Achilles injuries.

Running Back: Alvin Kamara (NO): $8,600

We found out what life without Michael Thomas looks like for the New Orleans Saints. The offense featured a whole lot of Kamara. The star running back rushed 13 times for 79 yards and two touchdowns while adding nine receptions for 95 yards. Kamara has scored multiple touchdowns in both games he’s played in 2020 and faces a Packers defense that’s surrendered three rushing touchdowns this season. Expect another heavy and productive workload from Kamara as the Saints look to get back on track at home.

Running Back: Miles Sanders (PHI): $7,400

Sanders rushed for 95 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries in his first game back from a hamstring injury. He now faces a lousy Bengals defense that could once again be without Geno Atkins and Mike Daniels. Cincinnati has allowed 370 rushing yards, the third-most in the NFL. This matchup is too exciting in what should be a bounce-back spot for the Eagles.

Wide Receiver: Amari Cooper (DAL): $7,000

I’m going back to Cooper after he was one of the few bright spots on last week’s lineup. Cooper hauled in six balls for 100 yards last week against Atlanta. He hasn’t found the end zone yet but has a good shot of doing so against a Seahawks secondary that’s given up the most passing yards in the league. Cooper’s matchup gives him a safe floor with plenty of upside.

Wide Receiver: DK Metcalf (SEA): $6,500

I clearly think Seattle vs. Dallas has the makings of a shootout, as both teams come into the game with struggling secondaries. Metcalf is still a value at his current price. Last week, the rising star caught four passes for 92 yards and a touchdown while going up against Stephon Gilmore. Metcalf should have an easier time against Chidobe Awuzie and Trevon Diggs this week. His big-play potential makes him an exciting upside play to pair with Cooper’s high floor.

Wide Receiver: Corey Davis (TEN): $5,300

A.J. Brown seems uncertain at best to play this week, which gives Davis another chance to headline Tennessee’s receiving corps. Last week, Davis caught three passes for 36 yards and a touchdown with Brown out of the lineup. Tennessee is a run-first team, but they might want to air the ball out a bit more against a Vikings secondary that’s in disarray. Minnesota has surrendered 567 yards and five touchdowns through the air this season. I’d like to see him get more than five targets, but Davis has plenty of appeal if Brown can’t go.

Tight End: Logan Thomas (WAS): $4,900

Thomas certainly isn’t a household name, but he’s worth a shot this week. He and Dwayne Haskins have developed a connection. Thomas is tied with Terry McLaurin for the team lead in targets (17), and he has eight catches for 63 yards and one touchdown. Expect more opportunities to come Thomas’ way against a Browns defense that’s given up the most fantasy points to tight ends through two games.

FLEX: Austin Ekeler (LAC): $7,500

While a timeshare with Joshua Kelley isn’t ideal, Ekeler has still rushed for at least 84 yards in both games this season. More work in the passing game would be nice, and that could happen this week against a Panthers defense that’s allowed a league-high 19 receptions to opposing tailbacks. They’ve also given up six touchdowns on the ground already this season.

D/ST: Indianapolis Colts: $4,800

Have you seen the Jets play this season? Sam Darnold is constantly running for his life behind a rebuilt offensive line. Plus, he has no playmakers, as Le’Veon Bell, Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman and Denzel Mims are all hurt. Oh, and he’s coached by Adam Gase. Sign me up.
