This was as bad an injury week as I can remember for fantasy football. The score of your matchup didn’t matter. If your players largely avoided injury, you were winning.
With the carnage comes a major shakeup in rest-of-season trade values. Assessing the trade value of injured stars and their replacement is critical when considering upgrading your roster, so making sure you adequately consider risk is essential.
As always, my usual caveats. These are based on my rest-of-season rankings, and the trade values aren’t FAAB dollars, but merely a vehicle to value players in a trade. And, as always consult our trade analyzer and trade finder on MyPlaybook before making any deal.

There is some minor movement among the trade values of the upper echelon quarterbacks, most notably the continued rise of Josh Allen. Allen isn’t going to continue to set a new high in passing yards every time out, but the addition of Stefon Diggs appears to have given Allen and the coaching staff more confidence to lean into the passing game more. With some likely high-scoring affairs on the horizon, there’s no reason to shy away from valuing Allen as a top-tier quarterback.
The biggest change comes from newcomers on the trade chart. Ryan Tannehill, Ben Roethlisberger, and Gardner Minshew are showing themselves to be more reliable than bigger names such as Tom Brady and Drew Brees. But don’t get too worked up over these additions. None is worth a significant return, and the difference between them and, say, Carson Wentz, is minor.

The majority of the movers on the trade chart require little explanation. Injuries to Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, and Raheem Mostert necessitate some movement both for themselves and their understudies. And James Conner and Miles Sanders looked healthy and spry.
Much of the other movement can be explained by the fact that when two of the top three running backs in fantasy are seriously injured, most other reliable running backs see a jump in value. Some specific risers include Alvin Kamara (remember when we were all worried about his contract situation and stuff? That was . . . that was funny), Jonathan Taylor (he is who we thought he was), and Aaron Jones (can the Packers give him 50% of the snaps instead of 36% and watch him break all sorts of records or what?).
And to answer your Devonta Freeman questions, I’m just not all that excited about a running back who wasn’t very good last year, had few legitimate suitors this offseason, hasn’t been practicing, doesn’t know the playbook, and will be playing behind a horrendous offensive line. He’s worth an add and, sure, he could be valuable. But I’m just not hitching my wagon to that star.

On Tuesday’s FantasyPros Football Podcast, Paige Dimakos casually mentioned that Calvin Ridley may be the best receiver in Atlanta. I’m not ready to say that. But I am ready to say that whatever you’re willing to give up for Julio Jones in a trade, you should be ready to give up the same for Ridley. To quote Mr. Miyagi, “different, but same.” Ridley is a stud. Like Tags and Yates told you all offseason.
I expected DeVante Parker to miss some time with his hamstring injury, but he played and played well against the Bills. So he should be considered a top-25 wide receiver. As perhaps should Diontae Johnson, who probably won’t continue to see a 34% target share but will continue to be an elite route runner and provide steady weekly production.
Robby Anderson is now a reliable option, Will Fuller has a barky hamstring, and it’s really not clear who the second receiver to roster is in Dallas. Things move pretty fast around here on the trade chart. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Darren Waller has reached that near-top tier of tight ends at this point. In half- or full-PPR formats, he should be nearly bustproof with his target volume.
Noah Fant should continue with his production even with Jeff Driskel under center, particularly with Courtland Sutton out. Dallas Goedert may lead the Eagles in targets. And, I mean, Jonnu Smith. I don’t expect this production going forward, but it would be unforgivable to leave him off the trade chart for another week.
