FanDuel NFL GPP Lineup Advice: Week 7 (2020)

FanDuel NFL GPP Lineup Advice: Week 7 (2020)

If there is one thing we learned (or were reminded of) in Week 6, it is that in GPPs you should always consider going to secondary options in the passing game that are in good spots as leverage pivots off the chalky primary options. While my Matt Ryan/Calvin Ridley/Adam Thielen stack combo last week was solid, it would have been greatly improved by shifting to a Julio Jones/Justin Jefferson pairing, which I did pivot to in one lineup. While that won’t always work out, it is something everyone should be thinking about when building out your GPP stacks and it is something to consider with my first stack recommendation below for Week 7.

So, with that let’s stack ’em up for Week 7.

Stacking Options

Matthew Stafford (QB – DET): $7,300 / Kenny Golladay (WR – DET): $7,600 (or Marvin Jones (WR – DET): $5,700)
The Lions stack was on the list last week, but it didn’t pan out as the Jaguars rolled over and played dead leading to more focus on the Lions ground attack. I expect the Falcons offense to put up more of a fight in this matchup, which leads us back to Matthew Stafford and Kenny Golladay. The Falcons have surrendered 345 passing yards (31st) and 3.0 touchdown passes (31st) per game this season putting Stafford in a good spot for his first 300-plus yard passing day this season with multiple scores. A large chunk of that production will likely go to Golladay who has 100 yards or a touchdown in three straight games and could reach both milestones in this one. On the Falcons, bring it back with your favorite wideout between Calvin Ridley or Julio Jones. I’ll give the lean toward Ridley as the more consistent option.

Bring it back with: Calvin Ridley (WR – ATL): $8,400

Teddy Bridgewater (QB – CAR): $6,800 / WR Robby Anderson (WR – CAR): $6,400 / WR DJ Moore (WR – CAR): $6,600
Let’s double-down on a Panthers stack by rostering both Robby Anderson and DJ Moore, along with Teddy Bridgewater. The wide receiver duo are the target hogs in the passing game, accounting for a combined 16 targets in all but one game this year, and a 50 percent combined target share this season. The Panthers will be traveling to New Orleans (aka the Coors Field of the NFL) this week in a potential shootout against the Saints who have allowed a league-high 3.25 touchdown passes per game over the last five weeks. Meanwhile, the Saints offense funnels through one (Alvin Kamara) or two (Michael Thomas) players, so bring it back with one of those studs and capture a huge part of the Saints production. Note, that Thomas is currently questionable to play, so watch the news leading up to kickoff. If Thomas plays, he could be a good pivot from a likely more popular Kamara.

Bring it back with: Alvin Kamara (WR – NO): $9,300

Kareem Hunt (RB – CLE): $7,100 / Browns (DST – CLE): $4,700
This combo should be the chalk RB/DST stack of the week with Kareem Hunt significantly underpriced on FanDuel at just $7,100. In the last two weeks with Nick Chubb out, Hunt has averaged 20 touches per game in much tougher matchups than he will get this week against the Bengals. The Bengals have allowed 119 rushing yards (29th) on 5.19 YPC (29th) to opposing running backs this season, and the Browns love to pound the ball on the ground in the red zone giving Hunt multiple touchdown upside. Meanwhile, the Browns defense has put a lot of pressure on opposing QBs and lead the league in forced turnovers per game (2.0). If you want to get away from the chalk, then consider pairing any of the running backs in the Low-Owned Filers section with their respective defense to be more unique.

High-Priced Stud

Aaron Jones (RB – GB): $8,500
Aaron Jones and the Packers offense stalled last week in Tampa but should bounce back in a big way this week in Houston. Aaron Jones in particular is in a great spot against a Texans run defense that has allowed a league-high 161 rushing yards per game on league-worst 5.94 YPC to opposing running backs while also giving up more than a score per game on the ground. On the ground isn’t the only way that Jones will rack up yardage and potentially touchdowns as the Texans have also allowed big plays in the air to pass-catching backs giving up 9.04 yards per reception (27th). It could be a 200-yard day with multiple scores for Jones.
