FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 7

FanDuel NFL Lineup Advice: Week 7

After a decent showing last week, there are plenty of enticing matchups to take advantage of in Week 7. This week’s FanDuel lineup assembles a mixture of established studs and exciting young players.

Quarterback

Justin Herbert (LAC): $7,500
I’m excited to take a shot on Herbert this week. The rookie from Oregon has surprisingly performed well since taking the reins a month ago. He’s put up at least 15.7 FanDuel points in each of his starts and gets a Jacksonville defense that’s been generous to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Running Backs

Alvin Kamara (NO): $9,300
Sure, Kamara’s pricey. But he should be worth every penny against Carolina. Although the Panthers have done a better job stopping the run lately, they’ve still given up a league-high 47 receptions to opposing tailbacks. With Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders both out this weekend, expect a ton of volume and production for Kamara off the bye.

Aaron Jones (GB): $8,500
Jones’ status for Sunday’s game against Houston is up in the air right now. He strained his calf during Thursday’s practice (yes, I agree these injuries are getting ridiculous) and coach Matt LaFleur said he’s more questionable than he is doubtful. I guess that’s good news? Hopefully he can go, as the Texans have surrendered the most rushing yards in the league.

If Jones is ruled out, I’d throw backup Jamaal Williams into my lineup and use the extra funds to make upgrades at wide receiver.

Wide Receivers

Kenny Golladay (DET): $7,600
Last week, the Kirk CousinsAdam Thielen stack against Atlanta burnt me. Yet I’m going back to the well with Golladay, who has a better skill set to dominate Atlanta’s lousy secondary. The Falcons have already given up 2,012 passing yards and 18 passing touchdowns this season. I’m banking on Golladay feasting.

Tee Higgins (CIN): $5,700
When you’ve got Kamara and Jones in your lineup, you need to make sacrifices. However, I’m starting to really like Higgins as a lower-range DFS play. He seems to be developing a rapport with Joe Burrow, garnering at least six targets in each of his last five games. Higgins caught three passes for 35 yards in Cincinnati’s first meeting with Cleveland, but this secondary remains susceptible. I’ll take a shot on the exciting rookie having a stronger game this time around.

Tim Patrick (DEN): $5,500
Is Tim Patrick the WR1 in Denver with Courtland Sutton out? It sure seems like it. Patrick has either scored a touchdown or surpassed 100 yards in each of his last three games. What’s more encouraging is that he continued to get targeted with Drew Lock back under center. The Chiefs’ secondary ranks ninth in passing yards allowed, but this unit doesn’t scare me.

Tight End

Hunter Henry (LAC): $5,800
Tight end is just so gross, especially at this price range. Henry gives me a stacking option with Herbert. Plus, Jacksonville has yielded five touchdowns to opposing tight ends this year. Basically, every tight end not named Kelce, Kittle, or Waller is dependent upon getting in the end zone. I’ll take my chances on Henry reaching pay dirt.

FLEX

D’Andre Swift (DET): $6,100
I think the Lions had a revelation during their bye week: “Maybe we should stop giving Adrian Peterson and Kerryon Johnson so many carries. Instead, maybe we should give them to the guy we spent a second-round pick on!”

How wise of you, Matt Patricia. This decision paid off handsomely, as Swift broke out for 116 yards and two touchdowns against the hapless Jaguars. Atlanta hasn’t yielded a ton to opposing running backs, but Swift’s pass-catching ability makes him a dual-threat. Now, let’s hope the Lions stick with him.

Defense/Special Teams

Washington: $3,800
The Cowboys stink. Andy Dalton stinks. The offensive line is banged up, and Washington has 16 sacks on the season. I expect Washington to harass Dalton all day and keep what used to be a prolific offense in check.
