We’re entering crunch time a bit earlier than normal this season. Not only are fantasy managers faced with bye weeks, but critical injuries to top-flight players have forced them to scramble. Christian McCaffrey, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, Julio Jones, George Kittle, Nick Chubb, and Austin Ekeler are just a few of the first- and second-round picks that have struggled through injuries already in the young season.

There’s no better time than now to check out the trade market and try to find the right deal. Our MyPlaybook feature offers plenty of tools to help you along the way, including the trade analyzer and trade finder. But, as always, the trade chart can help you weigh any deal.

A reminder that the numbers presented are not FAAB dollars, but rather a way to measure the trade value of any player. Just add up the totals on both sides of the trade in the proper format, and judge whether a deal makes sense in a vacuum.

Quarterback

The big change in this week’s quarterback trade value chart comes not from the values themselves, but from the inclusion of values for a much larger group of players. A wise reader mentioned to me that even the worst starting quarterback in the league has some value in a two-quarterback or superflex format, so it would be worth including a longer list of names.

As you can see, little changes in a single-quarterback league, and once you move past the top 13 or 14 names, quarterbacks simply have no trade value. But in a two-quarterback league? You go out there and you get Sam Darnold, you brave soul you.

Running Back

There’s a lot of movement in running back trade values, as Nick Chubb’s and Austin Ekeler’s injuries send their values spiraling, with Kareem Hunt’s and Joshua Kelley’s values rising. I was already a bit more bullish on Hunt’s rest-of-season value than the market anyway, and I don’t expect that he’ll suddenly morph into a 25-touch back. So, although he rises in value, his gain is modest.

Joshua Kelley’s upward trend is a bit more pronounced, though he’ll likely split the workload consistently with Joshua Jackson. Jackson just misses the trade chart (I try to draw the line at 40 running backs for the chart), and he’s worth an add if he’s on your waiver wire. But I wouldn’t target him in a trade. As for Kelley, he should be reliable as a Flex option most weeks, at least after his upcoming tough matchups. Assuming he can get his fumbling issues under control, of course.

Some other notable movers include Joe Mixon (I hope you bought low), Chris Carson (so much for the knee injury), Antonio Gibson (he’s officially arrived), Kenyan Drake (ok, now I actually am worried), and Ronald Jones (still proceeding with caution). As you can see, though, changes in running back values come rapidly in today’s NFL, so make sure you are confident in any deal you make.

Wide Receiver 

There is only minor movement among the trade values in wide receivers this week. Julio Jones’s hamstring injury certainly drops his value, but at the time of this writing, it’s just guesswork as to how much time Jones will miss, if any. Trade for him if you’re comfortable with your roster and you can weather the storm of a potentially lengthy absence, but proceed with caution.

A healthy Will Fuller is a stud, Robby Anderson is closing in on D.J. Moore as the best receiver in Carolina, Justin Jefferson is legitimate, and we need to pump the brakes with Julian Edelman a bit with Cam Newton’s positive COVID-19 test, an upcoming bye, and a likely better running game.

Tight End

George Kittle is healthy again. There’s reason to be worried about Zach Ertz, but he’ll still have plenty of value going forward. Few tight ends have any trade value. Analysis over!
